Bajaj Auto becomes Bharat Stage III compliant

Pune-based Bajaj Auto on Wednesday said its two-wheelers have become Bharat Stage III compliant, the new emission norm that would be applicable in the rest of India except 13 major cities, by April this year.

"We have been working on getting BS III compliant for a long time. Over the years our R&D team has allowed us to stay ahead of the learning curve and even this time the team has ensured that every product that we manufacture meets the new norms," Bajaj Auto CEO (Two-Wheelers) S Sridhar said in a statement.

This is wrong news! BS-III norms were introduced 5 years ago .. I think you and these sites meant Bajaj to be BS-IV by April, which will be true for cars as well.

      Please check and confirm.

            Totally Right

Bikes have different emission norm rules according to IMV Act PUC Revision Year 1998

Every bike maker IS BSIII compliant. Else they cannot sell their bikes 10 days from now. If Bajaj is in news for it now, it would mean then are the last ones to get it there!

Having said that, I wonder which bike/bikes from Bajaj weren't BSIII compliant till recently. All of them run pretty lean mixtures and are mileage kings!!!

And I was of the opinion that all bikes are BS-III complaint. Guess some misunderstanding. Thanks for the correction.
