      Yes yamaha

Thats a great news, Yamaha planning big in India would be good for us if not today then may be in the coming years

Save the Earth - We are the one who are running out of time, as Earth will take it own time to heal but that time may not be enough for us.

Yamaha plans to make India global hub for premium bikes-Two-wheelers-Auto-News By Industry-News-The Economic Times

I perceive that even we can get some Premium Bikes offered here in India.
I always had this idea in mind, about India being an export hub..

Anyone remembers when I used to say in Xbhp, "we can get FZ6 for under 3L if its manufactured here".

But coming back to reality, let's see what matures out of this decision by Yamaha.

            Exactly..!!

The Economic Times news does not clarify what kind of premium bikes Yamaha India has in mind for making India as the export hub.

A few excerpts from the article:

The Indian unit supplied 66,904 bikes in fiscal 2010 to Yamaha’s global operation, compared with 38,639 units in 2008-2009. These two-wheelers were sold in countries such as Colombia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Kenya, Bangladesh and the Philippines.
Yamaha exports bikes such as Gladiator Type SS, FZ16, YZF-R15, Crux, Enticer, Alba and G5 out of India.
The focus on selling high-end bikes in the 150cc category and above has worked well for Yamaha....

This segment is very crucial for us, as currently it is the main growth driver for our company,” said Mr Dubey

Only if Yamaha India is eyeing India as a manufacturing and export hub like Kawasaki has in Thailand (Kawasaki manufacturer's the Ninja 250R and the ER6 series of bikes in Thailand), it would make many xBhpians rejoice.

I hope this means R6s at a reasonable price available in India!
