sure it cost that much . A high performance motor alone costs 3-4k$, another 2k for a good speed controller and the batteries, if its a LIPO it will cost around 10k$ and other stuff a further 3k$ so the asking price is fair enough!Originally posted by niks_devil666 View Postit wud be interesting to see who buys these for $18000 . ^^ i dunno what has been used on this bike, but when i was researching a project to make a feasible electric bike, that takes me to work, and back, and does atleast 80-90 kmph, with a range of 45 kms. The motor was around 65k INR, and the controller another 40K. Battery pricing i have no idea, so i cant give a price, but im guessing another 1Lakh for a high voltage ( 96-120V ) battery pack.
Sadly in 2.5 lakhs ( 50k for the donor bike, and electrical mods etc ), i would only be able to run it for about 3 years max, then requiring a battery replacement, so it didnt work out as a feasible project, but was an interesting study.

i am in the same boat bro. Even i was having an idea for a bike. With 1 lakh we can only get a ups lead acid battery . For better range around 200kms and 200cc+ performance it would cost around 4-5 lakhs for the LIPO battery alone. And the best small motor currently available costs 1 lakh+ and the controller around the same. The other stuff would amount close to a lakh.Originally posted by jd666 View Post^^ i dunno what has been used on this bike, but when i was researching a project to make a feasible electric bike, that takes me to work, and back, and does atleast 80-90 kmph, with a range of 45 kms. But i like this concept as the bullet chassis is the best available in india for E-motorcycle convert because we can hold more batteries which is very important!
For the performance of a 100cc with lead acid batteries 2 lakhs is more than enough.
