Hero Honda is Highest Ad Spender in 2009 | Indian Motos Blog

Was just looking at this article in indianautosblog.com, isn't this interesting guys?? Especially the TV advertising ranking in 2009 for ads. Bajaj had a significant spend on XCD135, but eventually discontinued it, where as the flagship brands Pulsar & Discover doesn't even figure in the list. Hero Honda seems to have spent a lot for advertising. I am wondering what kind of effect will this ad spend shows on sales??

If only they were the highest spenders on R&D... they would not have to spend on advertising.. but then one way or the other, they are number 1.

But of late, they seem to be having some problems at their factory since none of the dealers, at least in Bangalore, have any models on sale upto 125CC (splendor / passion etc), 150cc and above (CBZ Extreme, Hunk, Karizma) are available though. And most of the dealers are claiming that production was affected due to some strike / lock out at the production units. Surely this is going to affect their sales figures in the coming months.

i think they are no.1 because of their bikes not bcoz of their ads...(check out my blog if u wanna know what i mean to say)

And if HH spends so much on the "ADS" than why most of them are JUNK?

I think more than half of of their Ad spending goes to the celebrities they have endorsed...
