ER-4n, ER-4f and Ninja Special Edition uncovered
A JAPANESE motorcycle magazine has unearthed first shots of three new 2011 Kawasaki models: ER-4n, ER-4f and Ninja 250 Special Edition.

While in-depth details are still scant, Visordown has learned the 400cc parallel twin ER-4f/n will produce a claimed 70bhp, just two bhp less than its bigger brothers in the company's ER 600cc range.

Kawasaki UK could not confirm whether the new 400cc machines were destined for UK shores.

We think they'd be a winner with the novice/shortarse brigade.

*Update: Martin Lambert, Kawasaki UK's Marketing Manager, has confirmed to Visordown the bikes will not be coming to the UK.

    All together now...

    BOO!

Now THIS is the bike for India! Cheap, fast and (should be) reliable!

Their 600's have to be really relaxed for the extra 200 cc's to be producing 2 more hp. Or perhaps the 400's are highly tuned.

Cheap as in, relatively speaking. A 250R is ~3L. Let us assume this will be around 5L. The next step up is a Bandit at ~9L. Plus 70 horses should be good enough for 150+ cruising on highways.

It's the CC which is making it suitable, there are very few 250's and I think there is no other 400 at the moment. Which is why IKM should bring this here.

                      It's not the earlier one...
This 250 is completely based on ZX 10R's paint job, so its somewhat looking like a 1997 Sportsbike, like ZX 10R now does...

I agree that 400cc's should be ideal for India, but if they give 70 bhp's, they should be heavily tuned which I hope doesn't mean not too much of low end torque, or fuel suitability...

I think this would be for the Japan market only, where lightweight performance bikes are still a rarity, after 2 strokes were given the goodbye... But if it comes to India, it would be one more choice.

+1 to that. I guess the 400s are only for the Japanese market, as they are not going to the European market itself, India is ruled out. I wish they come back with lots of 400cc bikes preferably inline 4s-that era is long gone though!

But this could also mean that there is no update to the 250 as well. I was expecting something to be changed, like digital meters etc.in the 2011 model.

Parallel twin 400s pumping out 70 Bhp is highly unlikely. It should be a inline 4 or the 70 Bhp power output is most probably a hoax.

Here's my take-> Three new destroked Kwackers for 2011: The Kawasaki Ninja 400R, ER4N and ER4F? | Indian Cars & Motorcycles Blog
