As a 5 year plan, Yamaha is aiming to double its dealers so as to spread its two wheelers to rural India. According to Koji Arai, Director and Chief Sales Officer of Yamaha India, the company is likely to increase the showrooms count to 2000 especially in the small towns and rural hubs of the country.
Yamaha might have read somewhere in the history book that Agriculture is the back bone of India and 70% of population resides in rural areas of the country. Also, the No.1 two wheeler maker Hero Honda is focusing on expanding its dealership activities in non-urban areas.
