then we have to see what steps will the superbike makers take. Will they reduce the sound or stop producing them. I think these kind of laws should be implemented in india also. I have seen a lot of guys who modify their vehicles to have a heavy sound & roam around with that vehicles at hospital areas. Such an inconvenience.

I second that. If your pipe really gives you that 'boost' then go use it on a racetrack or just stuff the darn thing with a cork. And a loud pipe makes one noticeable is crap, better to buy powerful horns if you 'see' someone not noticing you.

This is a good initiative since no matter how much I love bikes and such, I'd still like to sleep properly while in my home.Stock exhausts on SBK's are rather silent for lower rpms. Any higher you aren't supposed to do cause that'd directly mean that you're way over the speed limit in the city.

I have heard a CBR 1000RR (2006 ed) going past me many times at speeds of 110-120 kmph on the highway here and the stock exhaust is silent enough really. Even the mighty hayabusa is very silent most of the times. I don't think the manufacturers will have issues with the stock setups cause companies have to pass stringent laws while the consumer is relatively less burdened with laws and regulations for modifications.

However something like this coming into effect is near impossible to happen in India. Noises here can be attributed to buses, trucks & rickshaws with the occasional car/bike fella with a fetish for honking incessantly. In daytime in traffic rush hour just forget it in Bangalore. Although I've seen cops stopping people for a "phut phut" exhaust and 2 strokes with noisy exhausts. Its a good initiative at least.

Only if the autorickshaws here would be slapped with fines for both noise and air pollution cause the level of air / sound pollution cause by them probably sums up more than the pollution caused by other vehicles.

A man's testosterone level is directly proportional to bhp that he's using on his motorcycle.

i am sure that the police station would have been flooded with noise pollution complaints on that thing.
