more updates from the xBhp stall in Auto Expo 2012

The stall has been a huge hit among the visitors, not just the xBhpians but also for the people who didn't know much about xBhp. More and more people are coming every hour, asking about what is xBhp and about the bikes and also getting their pics clicked with the Ceat Ninja and the Hyosung GT650. Sometimes the rush is uncontrollable but thanks to Puneet, Shivanshu, Prakhar, and all other guys, it hasn't gone out of control as of now.

It has been a humbling experience for all of us meeting so many xBhpians from different parts of this country and also the top officials from the Industry who have visited the xBhp stall.

So, without much ado, I'll let the pictures talk:

                          Our stall before the crowd

                          The literature at the stall

Mr. Sanjay Tripathi, Director-Marketing at Harley-Davidson India leaving his valuable comments in the visitors' book at the xBhp stall.

                          Mr. Nitin Nishant from Ceat

Mr. Javeen Mathew from Coimbatore with his wife. He is the last 2 times winner of the Best Custom Bike Design at the Royal Enfield Rider Mania

                          This guest needs no introduction

                          Bunny Flaunting his xBhp Tee

This is Amit, Sunny's cousin. His father, Mr. Niranjan Gajjar makes all those beautiful caricatures that you see in the xBhp magazine.

The gentleman with me in this pic is a Major in the Indian Army. He has been a big fan of xBhp magazine. It was an honor to meet you sir.

Some xBhpians who visited us today:

                          The crowd at the stall

The crowed is pulling all sorts of people, including

                          ladies

                          Young guys

                          Kids

                          and girls too

The Auto Expo 2012 has been good for xBhp. We know now that we are known as much off-line as on-line. Quite a few of the visitors were very familiar with the magazine, regularly buying it and had not registered on-line yet. Nice.

The 'motorcycle' section at the expo has not been particularly exciting this time, what with everyone missing the KTM 200, something new from Yamaha and the same from Honda. The Enfield people did bring in a trickle of thrill with their Cafe Racer. The big bikes though have made up for the lack of excitement what with Harley slashing prices big time, Triumph coming up with no less than 7 models also at mouth-watering prices and Ducati making a come-back with a bang courtesy the Monster 795 bringing this 'Ferarri' of 2-wheels within striking distance of quite a few aspiring owners.

And yes, the Expo has proven again that India is the 'richest' in terms of 'human resources' . 300+ people queuing up just to enter a pavilion displaying cars and bikes from some global marques is a 'performance of quantity' not easily replicable anywhere else in the world I guess. This is the quintessential 'Kumbh Mela' as far as the crowds go.

Sunil's exhaustive analysis above of the visitor profiles at the xBhp stall is a case in point. Half the visitors though thought that we were dealers/sellers/developers of the GT 650 parked there. The 'what price/what mileage/what top speed' queries were endless as expected. Those who couldn't get into the Shreyas' pavilion made do with ogling at the Ferrari red GT and walking off satisfied at having seen a 'real' super-bike up close. But still I see a sea change in the general awareness about bikes and cars, something that's very heartening.

The best part though is getting to meet up with xbhpians from all over the country. Makes all the effort and expense worth its while. That the brotherhood is strong and growing is apparent not just in the numbers but also in the passion for 2-wheels.

Note: @velociraptor13: very gracious of you at that 'no comment' comment for my picture
And SunilG - I guess we'll have a nice chat back in office about this pic .
I don't let my motorcycles interfere with my motorcycling...

Good to finally "See" you csajal, after our short telephonic conversation

And 3 moments at the xBhp stall, from my side...

It was a short, but amazing experience at the xBhp stall at this Expo, for which we had travelled all the way from Kolkata.

Too bad we missed meeting Sunny, Old Fox, and MG, as they weren't there on that chaotic Sunday. But Sunil more than made up for their absence, with his warmth and welcome. And it was a pleasant surprise to meet Manan for the first time too.
