Posting after a looong hiatus on xbhp! But this is like music to my ears! If the street triple comes on road at around 6.5L, I'm plonking down my money on that and sticking with cabs whenever I need a car!!!

So when and where? It seems that, as usual (and understandably so) the top boss hasn't given any concrete details on when we can land up, whip out the plastic, and walk out with our favorite bike! I'll be tuned in for this! Must start saving up!

          Two things don't make sense:

          1) Why is the Tiger 800 XC at 11.4 lakhs? This looks like CBU pricing, which contradicts the bike's 799 cc displacement. So CKD would be only route to get this in unless the rules changes, and hence should be much cheaper.

          2) The current Daytona 675 has been around for six years now, and is dated. Triumph is going to refresh the Daytona in 2013, the grapevine goes. Which means, after homologation, CKD and all that stuff, the Daytona changes end of this year, leaving owners with the old model, as had been the case with the Ninja 650R.

The T100 and the Norton Dominator 650 or 500ss topped my list but this is as close as it gets whose engines and power i Have been more familiar with more recently. Ken thank you for posting - my dreams a step closer.

              hi Ken,
Where are these questions asked? Is there an interview with some triumph official that's published?

Did you get any info on where the showrooms will be located?

Also, which month did you mean by "festival season"..

I don't understand one thing: if Tiger XC is meant to be a dual purpose bike, why are the tyres fitted closer to street tyres? Even the BMW F800GS? Make mine pre-fitted with knobbies please!!

A nice comparo, though I feel everyone must have used Google on the bike:

[1] Fitted with road tyres + alloy wheels for mostly street riding with a Soft roader like attitude. Eg: BMW R1200 GS

[2] Fitted with knobbies + spoke wheels for taking bikes on off road. Eg: BMW R1200 GS Adventure

Was very impressed to see the Triumph bikes and even more impressed with the pricing. Asked the gentleman at the stall several times if he was sure the Speed Triple was only 8 lakhs because it seemed unbelievable. We'll have to wait until Q3 to see these babies on the road, but once they hit, they're going to really shake up the market!

Read the first post on the thread buddy. Yes it was a Triumph official. It was the MD of Triumph who answered my questions.

I saw a cavalcade of Triumphs and Benchi meggeli in a small Eastern coast city of Lowestoft in UK. All pimped up with Ackropovich and Leo Vince full exhaust systems. Saw 18 Rocket-III's in a row, which was quite over whelming...It puts a big smile on our faces to see these legends with mordern age tweaks landing on our soil. Kudos!!!

The Tiger is coming with street-ish tires as a decision from the factory. There is quite a bit of curiosity about that decision in other markets where the Tiger is already on-sale. Most are assuming it's because they expect even the off-road version of the Tiger to spend a lot of time on the pavement. However, the configurator on the Triumph website currently shows a Tiger with knobbies already fitted. It may be an upcoming option or a change. I have to dig through 400+ posts on the ADV riders forum to see if they've mentioned it.
