Triumph Motorcycles India Pvt. Ltd unveiled the Daytona 675 at 12th Auto Expo 2014

Since the bikes were unveiled in November last year, 2 all new Triumph stores and service centers, have opened and a further 7 stores will open over the next three months
Bookings for Delhi and Chennai announced
Given the demand already, Triumph Motorcycles are confident of selling 500 Triumph motorcycles in first 6 months, 1000 by year-end and 1500 by mid 2015

Triumph Motorcycles India Private Limited today unveiled the Daytona 675INR 10.15 lac (ex-showroom price: Delhi) the Daytona 675 will give Triumph Motorcycles the competitive edge within the super sports segment of the market.

The Daytona 675 shook the super sports class to the core by not only daring to be different with its three-cylinder, 675cc layout, but instantly raising the bar in outright performance. It was fastest on the track, the best to ride on the road and brought a new depth of character to a class of excellent but often indistinguishable alternatives. The basic format was so good, the Daytona has remained at the top of the sector ever since, winning countless magazine comparison tests and even trouncing the world's best superbikes in the prestigious international Masterbikes shootout, winning overall for two years in succession! In competition the Daytona has won hundreds of races and many titles around the world, while simultaneously seducing owners with its distinctive and stirring three-cylinder sound track and real-world road manners.

Paul Stroud, Director Sales & Marketing (Global), Triumph Motorcycles Pvt. Ltd. said,

Vimal Sumbly, Managing Director, Triumph Motorcycles India Pvt. Ltd. bookings for Delhi and Chennai will start from today, i.e. 6th February and the dealerships will be operational very soon. Good to have options. But the OTR in Bengaluru will still hit 12.3L.

Too pricey. I was expecting the non R version to be priced around 9L ex showroom.

Daytona is ok, I know its in a class of its own but I think for India their Tripple and Bonneville will be the largest selling models.

India, a country of middle class families, untill this bikes become affordable for them. I would call these bikes piece of scrap, unless they bring the cost down under 5l onroad. Again it's my way of thinking, vast majority of people might disagree.

Yeah, I disagree. Not because you wanted it for 5L, because they can make one and sell it for 5L but it will be like a Hyosung 650, but we wanted Daytona right?

Yes, it IS! That's what I meant to say. The R version with goodies over 2.5L tips 13L+ on road. Hence, I expected a 2L difference as a minimum between the ex showroom price between the siblings.

re: AE14: Triumph Daytona Launched at 10.15 Lakh

Standard Daytona at 10.15 ex-showroom Delhi, while Daytona R at 11.4 ex-showroom Delhi, Bangalore its 11.71 ex-showroom and 13.65 on-road. So Std Daytona can be assumingly around 10.4 ex-showrrom Bangalore, which churns around 11.95 lakhs on-road.

The ex-showroom for standard is still pricey, the variation from indicative pricing is still highest in Daytona.

I held my horses only for Daytona, I do not repent on getting a GSXR 1000 L1. Last week was in the showroom came in Gixxer, saw the Daytona R and others, looked little smaller and nimble then GSXR, but a beauty on its own.

                        Good luck with that.
The bike is definitely overpriced considering it's assembled here in India. I think there are better options available even with CBU models.

Once they find there are no takers for this bike at this price, they will reduce the price down to 7-7.5 lac ex showroom considering there's no escaping the India as they invested handsomely here.

Like most brit companies they have grown some ego and for the time being they are thinking of themselves as ducati. Once they realize that they were almost bankrupt at the home and at now, they really are just another bike manufacturer in this world, they will know how low they have sunk in the mud.

Yes...Yesterday I saw one..boy!! it looks stunning in white...not sure how its already there in Bangalore roads. The engine is music to hear...Still I feel its too pricy...thinking of options like Kawasaki and Ducati (i think it comes under 9 lakhs for monster)...

It should have lower by 8.5l to 9lakhs ex-showroom. Does the bhp/torque figure changes in this model?

Yes, obviously! Aftermarket exhausts and filters would enhance R's performance. IIRC, normal Daytona is 115 bhp and the R is 128. Also, there is a 4-5 Nm of torque increase in the R.
