Re: DSK Benelli Launched 4 bikes at Auto Expo
It's called a pocket bike and to know what it can do checkout Honda Grom and youtuber Jake the gardensnake. Its a fun pocket wheelie machine. I would like to know what is the specs of TNT135 however. Don't think of it as a commuter or VFM, but as instrument for stupid fun. And considering the niche volumes, I would speculate they would come as CBU with price tag north of INR200k.Originally posted by sman999 View Post

I think the Tornado 300 also comes with ABS standard ... can you please check and confirm :-)Originally posted by iVinay View PostAlso, in an another news -- DSK Benelli finally introduced Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) for their TNT 600i and the TNT 600GT!
If a retrofit is possible then all the existing owners would be so happpyyyyyyyyWhen I'm on the road, I'm indestructible. No one can stop me... but they try.

Royal Jordanian is 6'4" and he rides the Grom in UK traffic. Nobodys judging him. If you are gonna say something like that for the TNT T135 then what will you say for the HONDA NAVI?Originally posted by sman999 View PostCan we call that a bike? 12" wheels i guess. It looks puny and wont fit many riders. May be its for kids :P I know im speculating

Navi is an INdian version of the MSX 125. Its a fun little bike not meant for serious stuff but just to have fun on 2 wheels. I am quite sure a lot of people will be buying it Including me. I agree its far from being as good as the MSX125 but its something. The TNT T135 is a competition for the Navi you can say.

But when Honda launches Navi people will agree and the reliability is a plus. But what is Benelli doing with it in India. This little pun intended segment is very very meager in India. Honda might get the price right but can Benelli do that?Originally posted by deejayrox View PostIt's called a pocket bike and to know what it can do checkout Honda Grom and youtuber Jake the gardensnake. In terms of design TNT 135 is way better than the Navi
Lets wait for the prices!Ride Safe!

Haha, yea the Navi looks like a Toy straight out from a supermarket. But yea got a strong feeling that the T135 will probably get imported as CBU and it will cost horrendously. Maybe thats why Honda dint bring the Grom to india and instead launched a locally made version of teh bike. But yes nothing special from Honda this time. Very disappointing.Originally posted by sman999 View PostWell thats my point, its not a daily bike or a practical one. But when Honda launches Navi people will agree and the reliability is a plus. Guys I may be Wrong, but NAVI is a more of a gear less scooter and not a bike, as they promoted before launching something between bike and scooter and yes it is a gearless scooter which looks more like a GROM.
But on the other hand GROM is a bike and not a scooter same goes with Benelli T135,
NAVI Is a scooter which looks some what like GROM, it is not a bike.Last edited by The Monk; 02-05-2016, 02:51 PM.sigpic

Re: DSK Benelli Launched 4 bikes at Auto Expo
Check out all the gorgeous motorcycles of Benelli at Auto Expo 2016. You can drop in at the venue to have a look at them, if you can't then drool over these pictures! Read on for more details of the bike...
Shirish Kulkarni, Chairman of DSK Motowheels unveiling the Benelli Tornado 302
The Benelli TRK 502
The Benelli 502 runs an Inline 2 cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid cooled , 4 valves per cylinder double overhead camshaft type engine. The displacement of 499.6cc has a Bore x Stroke of 69x66.8mm, with a compression ratio of 11.5:1. The engine produces a healthy 45Nm of torque at 4500rpm, giving this Adventure motorcycle decent amount off pulling power in the mountains with luggage and two-up touring. For the power conscious, the bike produces 47bhp @ 8500rpm. Fueling is taken care of by Fuel Injection with 37mm throttle bodies. The bike has a 6-speed gearbox.
The chassis is a trestle steel tube with 50mm adjustable USD front forks. Adjustable for compression and rebound both we do not know as yet. Rear swing arm with monoshock absorber with the spring preload being adjustable. The rear shock stroke is 45mm. Braking at the front is taken care of by twin 320mm discs with 4 piston calipers, while the rear gets a 260mm disc with twin piston calipers. For the rider safety, ABS is standard on the TRK 502.
The Benelli TRK 502 is equipped with Alloy Wheels as standard and the spoked wheels are optional. The Aluminium Alloy Front wheel is 17"x3.5", while the spoked wheel is 19"x3". The rear uses a 17" for both the alloy and spokes, but the spoked is .25" narrower than the alloy of 4.5". Tyres at the front are 120/70-17 or 110/80-19, depending on the type of wheel you have opted for! The rear tyre is a 160/60-17 or 150/70-17.
This looks like a real exciting bike for the Indian tourer, and we would love to ride the Benelli TRK 502 alongside the recently revealed Royal Enfield Himalyan!

Benelli BX250 Motard
The Benelli BX250 Motard employs a 249.2cc, single cylinder, 4-stroke engine, which is liquid cooled and has 4 valves DOHC. The Bore x Stroke for the bike is 72 x 61.2mm while the Compression Ratio is 11.2:1. The 250cc mill produces a healthy 25bhp @ 9000 rpm, while for a bike like this the more important figure is of 21.5Nm at a rather high 7500 rpm. Fuel in injected with the help of 37mm throttle bodies. This 6 speed bike meets Euro 3 norms.
The chunky 50mm USD front forks have a 250mm stroke so that you can soak up all those undulations with relative ease. To aid this the rear shock has a 110mm stroke. A 280mm disc up front is coupled with a 240mm disc at the rear. The front tyre is a 100/80-17 and the rear is 130/70-17. The bike is super light at 135kg as you would expect, with 270mm of ground clearance. Seat height for the bike is 890mm, in comparison the Duke 200 has a seat height of 800mm! The fuel tank is 9.6 litres with an expected efficiency of 30kmpl, you get a tank range of around 250 kilometres.

Benelli Tornado Naked T
The 134.7cc engine is a single cylinder, 4 stroke, air cooled 4 valves, single overhead camshaft ( SOHC ), double spark unit. The Bore x Stroke is 54 x 58.8mm. Compression Ratio of 9.8:1. Power figures for the bike are 12.6bhp @ 9000rpm, while torque is 10.8Nm @ 7000rpm. The 5 speed bike is electric start only. The 12" wheels on this bike along with the USD front forks and the specs in general make you wonder if this will ever hit Indian markets. With specs such as this this will be way more expensive than the run-of-the-mill 150cc bikes in India. This light little bike will stand out for sure, but will it find a market large enough to make it worth launching is the question!

Benelli Tornado 302
The last of the four bikes unveiled by Benelli at the Auto Expo 2016. This is the fully faired 300cc bike which would probably do very well in the Indian market. What with our particular fascination with fairings and plastic! It does face stiff competition in the form of the Yamaha YZF R3 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300, which are already proven products. It will depend greatly on how competitively can the DSK group price this in India. It is unlikely that the bike will be priced anywhere near the KTM RC390, which a lot of prospective buyers will invariably compare it to.
The Benelli Tornado 302 uses a 300cc In-Line Twin Cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid cooled , 4 valves per cylinder, DOHC engine. Bore x Stroke is 65 x 45.2 mm. Compression Ratio is 12:1. This engine produces 35.4bhp @ 12000 rpm and 27Nm at 9000rpm. Quite the rev happy engine we have there! Braking is taken care of with double floating disks 260 mm with 4 pistons caliper at the front while the rear is a single 240mm disc with floating single piston caliper. Tyres are 110/70-17 at the front and 150/60-17 at the rear. The bike weighs in at 180kg with ABS, making it a tad bit heavy and porky.
