The next day, a lovely Sunday morning, saw Ajay and Mayur come to the GICR team hotel to escort us through the city. Navigating through Bangalore is never easy with the many one ways and these human GPS' were a blessing for us as the team headed to Electronic City Toll, the meeting point for the ride. At the toll the number of bikers was ever increasing, as the superb bikers kept trickling in late as always! But time was not to be wasted and biker banter was in full flow, with Suvra and his FFE and Udy and his SBK bearing the brunt of the humour. Bikers from xBhp Bangalore, Yamaha Riders Club and Naked Wolves Bangalore rode with the team.
After all the bikers had collected and a short photo shoot later, the guys and gals rode in formation of four square along the lovely NICE road towards the Mysore highway. A short but pleasant ride later, the entire troupe of riders landed up at Raasta Cafe along the Bangalore - Mysore highway for breakfast and bakar. The term 'bakar' being used most frequently and indulged in excessively by the xBhp Bangalore guys! Sunny shared his experiences of being a biker in India and riding around the country on big bikes for the last decade and how things have changed, Old Fox then reminded us that he has been riding for more than two decades and the sea change he has seen is mind boggling and makes our vast experience pale in comparison. Ridermax aka Ravi Shankar and his wife Julian spoke about travelling together as a couple for two decades on their multitude of motorcycles. Superbikers Harish and Ajay shared their experiences of buying and owning the Hayabusa and R1 respectively, the challenges, joy and motivation these bikes provide. The lady bikers of Bangalore xBhp, Suhassa, Roshni and Sonali spoke about the many challenges their face to enjoy something that guys take for granted. Suresh Babu spoke his experiences in competitive rally riding in India and abroad and the many comebacks he has made in life after horrendous accidents.
After breakfast and banter, the group moved out for some more photographs included two very pimped out Busas. Everybody took turns for getting their profile photos clicked on the R1s and Busas, as well as trying their hand at selfies with DSLRs!! After multiple photoshoots and many goodbyes the bikers parted ways to ride their separate destinations. Separated till we meet again...
