MV Agusta displayed its inline 3 cylinder Brutale 800 Dragster at EICMA. The 798cc engine employed on a host of bikes by the company produces 125 HP @ 11600 rpm and 81 Nm at 8600 rpm. The bike revs freely to its limit at 13000 rpm. The bike weighs in at 167 kg dry and this gives it an impressive power to weight ratio of 1.34 kg/ HP. Pirelli Diablo Rosso II do the job of keeping this exotic rubber side down!
This 3 cylinder engine weighs just 52 kg and is said to be very efficient and user friendly. The bike also has 3 modes for power delivery and 8 step traction control setting to make it even more rider friendly. The frame configuration, which has characterised the 3-cylinder platform since its inception, features an ALS tubular steel load-bearing structure, supplemented by lightweight aluminium alloy plates. The 43 mm upside-down Marzocchi fork offers 125 mm of travel; the Sachs rear shock gives the single-sided swingarm - also in aluminium alloy - 125 mm of travel. The seat, with a height of 811 mm, has been redesigned to improve comfort and function: it also boasts a craftsman-like finish with stylishly stitched seams.
