        • The Passion Hunt India Roadtrip : The Four Riders : GIR 09

The final four riders for the India starting Feb 2nd 09 are:

          Riding Gear by:

          Sandeep Goswami (Old Fox)

Sandeep Goswami, 41, from Delhi, an Aeronautical engineer by education, an entrepreneur by vocation and a motorcyclist by choice. Worked a few years as an Air traffic Controller, moved on to setting up and running own production unit before finally turning towards engineering consultancy and authoring books on travel, life, motorcycling and survival skills. See preview of one book here. Motorcycling has been an indelible and inseparable part of his life. More than two decades and some 500,000 kms on road, his love for travel on two-wheels remains undiminished. He has also founded a closely knit adventure group ‘Lethal Cats‘. An active member of xBhp and strongly into promoting safe riding through motorcycling workshops and training sessions

          Sunil Gupta

Popularly known as Sunil “Jee”, this man was bitten by touring bug in his early school days and to give him company on his “long trips” was his first set of 2-wheels, an Atlas cycle. However, this hobby/passion was buried somewhere deep underneath the office files and the mundane aspects of the everyday life until he discovered xBhp. Spending hours reading the several travelogues by x-men ignited that spark that culminated into a pre-trip meet with some x-men, followed by a trip to Uttranchal, which gave way to a ride to snow-laden peaks of Himalayas, and ultimately the mecca of bike tourers, a Leh trip on his 50,000 km old Pulsar; all this just in the span of a few months. Numerous single-day rides in between these ‘big’ ones were always there. XBhp had converted this shy, small-town boy into an avid tourer; a life was changed, forever. Till now, his 75,000 km old Pulsar 150 has seen him through 9 different states of India.
A desire to capture those beautiful moments led him to try his hands in photography, which ultimately became instrumental in his inclusion into the GIR core riders.

Working as Quality Analyst in medical transcription industry, this man aspires to be a visual effects artist some day. Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Elastic Reality, Adobe After Effects (novice) are some other tools in his armament.

His mantra for life is - There is Life Beyond 9 to 5.

Snul Gupta was also a part of The Great Indian Roadtrip in 2006.

See Sunil's Profile on theGreatIndianRoadtrip.com : The Great Indian Roadtrip : Riders : Sunil Gupta

          Shailay
A normal guy with an ever lasting love for two wheels, Shailay has been a curious traveller for long. He had his first taste of touring motorcycles as a teenager, wobbling through the squeezy roads of Satpura range in 2000 on a two-stroke bike that loved the engine oil more than the gasoline and rarely made it out of an hilly off road stretch without a manual push. Realisation which happened then, that he was more comfortable on those wheels than on his own feet started a love affair with motorcycles that continues to this day. He has journeyed through a large portion of north and north west India in a past decade on bikes ranging from 100 to 500 CCs.
A devout admirer of F1 ace Fernando Alonso, he is currently pursuing his Law degree from University of Delhi. His artistic being often loves to fuse his motorcycling with photography which he aspires to use this year for providing you with various shades of country on this most awaited event of xBhp.com and Castrol Power1.

          Sunny

Sunny,28, Delhi, is the founder of xBhp.com, India’s most popular motorcycling community and portal. Professionally he is a grahphic designer though now making rapid progress into being a fine travel photographer. He has travelled around India in 2006 on a Castrol Power1 1000CC superbike, around Australia on a 650 CC sportsbike in 2007, and around New Zealand on a 1400CC Hypertourer in 2008. This year he will be going around India once more astride a Castrol Power1 Superbike enchantig you with his fantastic pictures.
