The Flickr Rides powered by xBhp finally reached its culmination point with the Bangalore leg being happening on the weekend of December 21 & 22, 2013. And boy what a ride it turned out to be. A disciplined pack of 75+ motorcycles carrying ~100 bikers & photographers through the NICE Road to Golden Palms Resort at Tumkur Road.
A special thanks to Crucified Udy from xBhp Bangalore Chapter, N.I. John from Bangalore Bikers, and Sukesh Ashok Kumar from Born Riders for making this happen.

The event started early morning on Saturday when all the 11 finalists gathered at Boca Grande in Koramangala for the briefing and the flag off. After the breakfast and the briefing and giving the phone & other formalities, the riders were flagged off with a map of Bangalore and a list of 10 themes which they needed to take a picture based on these themes with the phone given to them. Like Delhi finalists, the Bangalore finalists were also given a Sony Experia smart phone to click pictures and upload them on the Flickr Rides group.
All the riders set off in different directions to click the pictures. I was sitting pillion with Thulashi Dharan to shoot him while he was shooting in Bangalore. It was such a wonderful experience to explore the unseen corners of Bangalore while sitting as a pillion. We all called it a day, a long one at that, with all the finalists coming to our hotel and submitting their photographs that they clicked.
On the D-Day, which started even earlier at 5 a.m. for all of us. Navneeth and Neelesh Roy along with his friend had reached the hotel to guide us to the final meeting venue, Jade Empire Hotel. Sunny was riding the 2008 R1, graciously given to him by a gentleman called Abhijeet who himself joined the ride on his Duke 390. Most of the xBhpians and bikers from Bangalore bikers and Born riders along with the finalists had already gathered the venue when we reached there by around 6.30 a.m. After a quick idli/vada/sambhar bite, we all headed towards the first toll gate on the NICE Road in smaller groups. The toll gate was first regrouping point from where we started in a 2x2 formation and rode all the way till the exit point on the Tumkur Road before stopping somewhere midway for a quick group photo shoot.
It was a sight to behold the entire pack riding in such a tight formation without overspeeding or riding rashly. The lovely weather & the truly 'nice' NICE road made things even better.
We all reached the venue around 9 where after the breakfast the formal proceedings began. A small but nice photo exhibition was also set up at the venue where the photos from the finalists as well as the participating groups, Born Riders and Bangalore Bikers, were also put on display.
After a short but sharp photography tips sharing session by motographer, the formal trophy distribution ceremony began. Meanwhile, Sukesh and John also came up on the stage to talk about their ride and their group, and to give trophy to the finalists.
Finally the day came to an end with a final group picture of all the participants on the stage. Bikers bid adieu to each other by around 11, just in time to reach home in time to finish the other tasks that were lined up for Sunday.
On the way back, I rode Abhijeet's Duke 390 to his home and had a nice chit chat session at his place before Navneeth arrived there to pick me up. Rest of the evening was spent at his place gulping down the wonderful Chinese food that he had ordered from a nearby restaurant.
Too bad we all had flight back home the same day, otherwise would've loved to spend some more time with fellow biker brothers from Namma Bangalore.
But lets save it for some other day, maybe for the next iteration of Flickr Rides
