          • Day 6:Gurgaon-Ambala

Very short riding today, but fast night riding. Delhi border to Ambala in just two hours. Average speed of 100kmph, made possible by following an Audi Q7 non-stop at extremely high revs. But my 'fire retardant' bag melted and poured goo over my exhaust pipe.

            • ^^ ewww... wrap some asbestos tape around the exhaust if possible. You could ask for the exhaust gasket of Yamaha ( RX series ) for the purpose.

Yes, it was fast. But safe - I was keeping a distance of 100 meters behind a fast moving Audi Q7 which kept clearing the traffic and also taking care of intersections and giving a sense of where the bad roads were. And the roads were very good and safe - reflective markers all along the way and a flashing beacon before a diversion at construction sites. Very good job done by NHAI !

Right now at the NH1 factory outlet store and will head out to Jalandhar in 30 minutes or so!

@BV: that was really fast...anyways following Q7 was a nice strategy...

                            • Keep Going............

Actually our friend Rahul is a living and breathing testimony of what dreams can actually do to our mundane daily lives. Many people in India have Ninja250,RD350,Comet and higher cc bikes like BMWF650 and litre class masters, and the hyper sports tourers like Blackbirds and Hayabusas, but the problem is how many of them ride for a cause, how many of them ride for a challange????? NONE for most of them.Others would take the bike out for a weekend in the same province and come back loaded with all shorts of drinks to our daily mundane lives............enjoyment??? Yes, freedom????........NO.

A selected few would do some tracks on a weekend, which is very excellent and I appreciate them as they do it for the cause of motorsports and its development in India, compelling the companies to launch better technologies on their machines and make it available to commoners aka Bikers with dreams.

Rahul's introduction so far has shown us that even he works for a living and the absurd but inevitable daily routine of 9 to 5 stays put for him too with the obvious troubles of finance n all,but even then he has dared of letting go his biking spirit, the spirit that propels him to reaches of adventures that few of us can go on about. For Rahul there is no fear of unknown but a strange curiousity that drives him to ride across the unknown. In one way or the other Rahul has shown that almost everyone can acheive absolute freedom for a big part of their lifetimes.........freedom to discover and explore, freedom to dream and achieve, freedom to ask and know, freedom to fight and save a noble cause, freedom to guide and lead.Free from daily routines and chores, this is what a real adventure on a motorcycle means.Burning fuel not to show off,but to prove himself.

I really like Rahul for that and wish to walk his steps someday, ride with him someday...........and I also appeal to all bikers(who really likes biking and not only moving from point A to point B) to join in and support Rahul for his cause. Each of our small contribution can affect this cause in ways we may not even know off, just like drops of water adds upto oceans, but we must support in whatever ways possible.

Great going Rahul, you are truly exemplary.Best Of luck on your endeavour. Our most heartfelt wishes are with you.
