(Apology for getting things done a bit late, but I am sure you will love it
)7th May started with a bad weather condition with the clouds darkening the sky and slight drizzles on the visor. We had only wish for the clouds to hold the droplets for at least a day or two and the sun was out of sight. The day was a mixture of both ups and downs. All xBhpians assembled at New Colony, Laitumkhrah at 7:30 in the morning as planned, where we had a short briefing, distribution of VIP passes and the flyers (which reached us at about midnight at Conrad’s residence). Firstly, when we reached the 5th Ground at Polo mayhem set in, which started with a minor accident between a taxi and Raul Lama (member xBhpian) with his Pulsar200. Though after a short argument the matter was settled with 600 bucks for the minicab’s single wheel-cap! After making two rounds around the entry points of the venue, we were restricted entry with our bikes and had to park about half a kilometer away from the 5th Ground. In addition, the xBhp members who volunteered for the distribution of flyers on safe riding were initially restricted to enter the venue. Thanks to the spontaneous help by Sunny and Subro (from MTv) who paved our way inside the venue else we would have been stranded in a long queue.
As soon as we stepped inside, the members did their job of distributing the Flyers and since xBhp was by and large known with the crowd, there were many others curious to know about the community, its promotion on Safe Riding, website and other related activities. In one such interaction, one biker humorously responded on seeing the xBhp flyer and the logo “Oh xBhp! Yes I know xBhp, I had even raced with them some years back”. With time, the ground began to be packed with ‘Young Shillongites’. There were competitions held in the centre stage where girls and the boys separately had to compete in push-ups. The girl or the boy with the most number of push-ups was awarded with prizes. The crowd was cheering the contestants in their loudest voice especially when the girls were competing. Group discussions for contestants and workshops for other bikers were also held.
Then all of a sudden the crowd rushed towards the area where the Ghost Riders would thrill the audience. Almost half of the crowd could not even have a glimpse of the stunts as the surrounding area was full packed. Many of us had to use the chairs just for a 5 minutes satisfaction for our eyes. The Ghost Riderz really did amaze the crowd with their stoppies, wheelies, burnouts, and all. The wet surface did not seem to bother their skills. Unfortunately, the area was too small for the stunters to entertain the crowd in their highest level. Later during our interactions, they stated that “today’s performance was just 20%”. During the second stunt show, the bouncers and the MTv crew had difficulty in managing the crowd who went really crazy. Some were sneaking through the fences by forcefully removing the tins that were used for fencing while others were climbing on it. Later due to the overweight the fences almost collapsed and most of them who were clinging to it had a great fall. I am sure many of them must have suffered scrapes and bruises.
As the dancers (BBoying) were rocking the stage with their moves and the crowd having a moment of their life, the clouds began to shower its blessing and welcomed the event with heavy downpour. But even the elements of nature could not stop the Shillongites from enjoying the dances, the competitions and VJ Ria (MTv) on the stage. From a distant we could hear the crowds at their loudest voices “We want Ranvijay, We want Ranvijay”. For some moment, we saw Dony, the host, enjoying the mud and the rain outside of the stage. He was moving the crowd with his dances while the boys and girls followed him to enjoy the moment. As the heavy shower continued some of the those who were outside the stage were taking shelter under the Stuntmania banners and umbrellas while few of the boys were hanging around in the rain covered with the banner. About half of the crowd had left for home by then, drenched and shivering.
After the heaven had blessed us enough, we were fortunate to interact with the Ghost Riderz. We must admit that being the official stunt team for the MTv Pulsar Stuntmania Rockathon and having recognition all over India they are very much down to earth. They had a pleasing personality and very welcoming for interactions and interviews just as they rock on their bikes. Mikhil (aka Phenom) stated that xBhp, being India’s largest Biking Community, can help promote biking as a sport activity to a higher level in Meghalaya. As pro stunters, they encouraged the local youths to practice stunts on a safe environment with proper protective gears and guidance.
As evening approached the crowd began to fill up the gaps even though the ground was slippery and muddy. Afflatus, the only girl rock band in India, opened the stage welcoming the Shillongites Rockers with their favorite numbers. They were awesome as always! The Soulmate band that was next was true to its name touching our souls with their jazz and blues. We could see the MTv crew who were in the VVIP area stunned by their performance. In between, VJ Anusha was entertaining and throwing away gifts to the crowds. Well I did manage to catch a cap for Hru while Ben, bulky and huge, managed to grab a toy for Glady but poor Conrad (Chota Saitan) was out of reach. Led by Anusha, the crowd greeted Shantanu, one of the members of MTv crew who turned 20th, with “Happy Birthday to you”. When it was the turn of the Parikrama to take over, the crowd went crazier. Boys and girls alike were waving their hands, jumping, screaming and singing along to the Iron Maiden’s number. At one moment, a drunk and hallucinated heavy-metal lover climbed over the barrier, ran towards the stage dancing and stripping his shirt! Another metal lover had also stripped his shirt and was crazily being carried on the shoulder by another!
It was altogether a wonderful day for the Meghalaya xBhpians. We were drained from head to toe, our spines and feet aching for the bed and yet, to admit the fact, we are never tired of enjoyment, for our next destination was Tango! Without much ado, “Hamara entertainment phir se suru hogaya”! We left our belongings, our bikes, our hard day behind and found ourselves amidst the MTv crew “Fire Burning, Fire Burning on the dance floor OwoowooHo” till the next early morning! I honestly say, the BBoys rock the dance floor and stunned everyone, the xBhpians did rock till the end!

The next morning we were behind schedule due to misinformation. We managed to snap few pictures of the auditions and stunts by those who were not selected for the next round. There were altogether about 14 contestants out of which 5 were selected. From Shillong, Owangdi Lama and Brian were selected for the next round. The remaining 3 were Irfan Madani and Ajay Singh Pawar from Rajasthan and Bikramjil Singh from Punjab.
So that’s it on the MTv Stuntmania Rockathon! I do hope you enjoyed the brief writeup. As for the pictures it will soon be uploaded, kindly be patient.

Thankyou.
