  • Ahmedabad To Delhi on TVS Apache RTR 180

This is first time I am writing a travelouge, please ignore if there are any mistakes.

Life is so short so why waste a single day of it doing something that doesn’t matter, that doesn’t count? As people say there is nothing more intoxicating than doing big, bold things. , With no proper destination in mind, reading fellow travelers blogs, understanding road conditions and above all, the itch to get lost somewhere, here I am after successfully completing my solo trip continues riding and exploring places clocking 3000+ kms on the ODO, 5 states and best way to farewell my bike.

I bought my Apache RTR180 in October 2014, till now I covered 46000kms on ODO. and longest ride I ever did was Mount Abu which is just 180kms.

    So how it all started???

It was just sudden. I never planned such trips. In November 2017 a thought came in my mind to go somewhere very far on my bike. And frankly I had no destination in my mind. But after that I planned to go Delhi which is my native on my bike via Jaipur. And 17th December 2017 was the day.
    Date - 17th December, 2017
    Riders - Me, alone!
    Bike - 2014 Apache RTR180
    Route - Ahmedabad - Mehsana - Mount Abu - Sirohi - Ajmer - Jaipur - Delhi

    DAY1- AHMEDABAD TO JAIPUR

Finally the day came! The plan was to leave it 12.00AM from Ahmedabad. And some of my friends came to wish me a luck for my ride. I was bit worried my bike is 46k KMS old! And covering 700+ kms in single day was task for me, I highest KMS I covered in single day was 240kms in my 3 years of ownership. I had fear my engine will blow, chain will break, I will comeback safe? And what not! Still I stared my ride

I don't have saddlebags, I tied rucksack with help of bungee cords and was good to go! Gears I had were Aspida Aura Riding Jacket, Scoyco Gloves, knee guards from Amazon (I don't remember the name), and army boots.
I started my ride from ISCON circle Ahmedabad and in hour I was near Mehsana, the temperature was ok. I was maintaining speeds of 85-90kmh and bike was performing really good! Didn't found any reason to stop anywhere but Mehsana bypass road is bit scary. Not a single shops were open, no lights, no local guys, no nothing, and Apache's Headlights are not so powerful, but somehow doing 50-60kmh I came back on Main highway again. But who knows what is waiting for you ahead. A private transport company bus was with me from Unjha and we were cruising at same speeds 80-90 and headlights of that bus were helping me. And when I was about to reach palanpur what I see is that bus crashed with another bus which was having puncture and was on the road. luckily no one was injured but this incident scared me a lot. And I stopped at some tea stall at palanpur and decided not to go ahead till sun comes out.

Had tea, washed my face, and started waiting for sun to come out. That local shop guy was so friendly and we were talking. And finally I saw sky getting blue.
At 6.30AM I left palanpur and soon I was near rajsthan border, and sun covered with big rock mountains were treat to eyes.

Okay so journey after this I will share after my travelouge gets approved 😊

8.30 AM - After riding through scenic Mount Abu - Pindwara route decided to stop at Baba Ramdev Hotel Sirohi for Tea and Biscuits. At around 9AM Started riding again i was running late but still I was enjoying the ride. Fuel was still enough for me to reach Ajmer.

At around 11.AM I crossed Pali, and didn't stop anywhere. Wanted to reach Ajmer as soon as possible.

1.00 PM - Reached Beawer, got fuel tank full again, cleaned and lubed the chain, washed my face and started riding again. Surprising I wasn't hungry at all! At around 2 finally I reached Ajmer Bypass!! Stopped at some hotel I don't remember the name. I don't know why but I was not feeling hungry even I didn't ate anything yesterday night. Had paratha and dahi, and a cold drink. The Hotel/Dhaba owner was Gujarati Muslim from Vadodara and he was very friendly! He was happy to see someone coming from his hometown and that too on a motorcycle.

After an hour around 3PM I stared riding again my destination Jaipur was not very far now.
Just after I started riding, a red pulsar 220f with Punjab Registration overtook me with saddlebags, huge travel bag, and a rider with dirty jacket. And he stopped me. I don't remember his name but he was coming all the way from Banglore and he was riding towards spiti. It was really nice to see another rider who was also coming from far away. We both were riding together now but after 10-12kms he slowed down, showed thumbs up and stopped at some Dhaba and I kept on riding.
5.15pm - and finally!!!!! I reached Jaipur after riding almost 700kms! For the first time in my life!! Called a friend who lives in Jaipur, he came to pick me up. He was telling me to stay at his place only but I was not feeling comfortable! After convincing him we found a nice hotel with parking, and all basic needs. Got a nice room just for ₹600.
Took a shower, changed clothes and surprisingly I wasn't feeling tired at all.
Called my friend and we decided to go to Nahargarh.

That classic chrome 500 belongs to my friend from Jaipur, He has YouTube Channel "Mantavya" which is his name. Do check out his channel I am sure you will love the content. Jaipur is beautiful city man! And watching the city from top was treat to eyes.

After spending an hour there. We came back in city and had dinner. And I was done for the day. Went back hotel, and slept.

Beutiful Jaipur Sky from my hotel

The Mighty Amer Fort at night

Day - 2 Explore Jaipur City and Jaipur Delhi
I woke up at around 7.30 AM. Honestly Jaipur's sky is most beautiful sky I've ever seen. With dramatic colors and clouds. Had tea and breakfast. Checked out from hotel, tied luggage on my bike again. Checked Engine oil/ Tires, warmed up the engine. And left to explore this beautiful city.
Jaipur's traffic is bit confusing but the city is beautiful. The old shops, historical roads. Called Mantavya again and we decided to go to Hawamahal first.
The palace is located to the south of Jaipur city, at the main road intersection called the Badi Chaupad (big four square). Jaipur city is well connected by road, rail and air with the rest of the country. TheSanganerInternational Airport is at a distance of 13 kilometres from the city.Entry to the Hawa Mahal is not from the front but from a side road to the rear end.It is particularly striking when viewed early in the morning, lit with the golden light of sunrise.

To be honest, The Hawamahal looks awesome from outside but from inside I found it bit disappointing. Still it was worth visiting.
From Hawamahal, we headed towards The Amber Fort. (आमेर in Hindi)
The Amber Fort was the second best attraction that I went in India - after the Taj Mahal. We went up to the Fort by our bikes - arrive early is best to avoid congestion - a lot of people were giving up the cars and walking. The entrance of the Fort is chaotic, be aware of your surroundings and don't engage with people trying to selling you stuff or begging.Once inside there is so much to see that one can spend 3-4 hours easily there. I was amazed with the details of the architecture specially the pavilion with millions of pieces of mirrors decorating the walls and roof.Inside the Fort you can see the elephants going upthe hill as well - until around 11am. They go a different route than the cars and people still hide them to go up as well - which personally I would not do.As any other tourist attraction in India, it is best toarrive early when the place is not so crowded and the sun is not strong. Even being in the middle of winter I had a tough time with the sun. Do not forget to always bring water! You can walk about by yourself and explore but it was nice to have a guide to hear about the stories of the Maharajah.

              The Jal Mahal

After Amber We went to Nahargarh.
This fort it’s to be said that king had built for his 9 queens and it has a sheesh mahal and museum too inside the fort.. from here u can see Jaipur cityview which is good. But apart from it, it has nothing to see inside as they have made various art section with Branding sponsored by different companies.. various pieces of art has been kept inside the fort making it more commercial then authentic.. apart from it there is nothing else to see.. this place has some restaurant too but m not sure how are they as we didn’t try anything.
But ride to Nahargarh is epic, beautiful road with full of corners (u need to be careful). And view from top is simply breathtaking. I went there just to see the view.

It was 11.AM and I had to reach Delhi before evening.
Entered Jaipur Bypass fueld up the bike again exited via kukas, achrol, chadwaji, said goodbye to Mantavya and started my journey again. Jaipur - Delhi highway is great but too many trucks! And it has so many beautiful mustard fields which avoided ride to get boring.

I decided not to stop anywhere until I reach Delhi. Kept riding continuously and at around 3.30 I entered Gurgaon. And man I was litterly screaming with joy that made it. Took Gurgaon - Faridabad road which is famous for bikers. And reached At my place in Faridabad. I never ever expected that my bike will perform so good with zero issues. Now the plan was to do nothing, spend time with family there. But this trip is not over yet!
Will be sharing next part soon!
              *To be continued
The Mighty Hanuman Statue on GFR

              JS paji's chilling spot

And the place which I always saw in videos or pictures, THROTTLE SHROTTLE

thank you if you made it till here

You've mentioned 80-90, but we're you able to do that and beyond that?

Yes occasionally 100+ and clocked 134 on open stretch. By 80-90 I meant cruising speed. 😊
