Be careful when you hit some really hard twisties, like this one:

    Day Trip Over Mt. Hamilton

something new is that i dont have to twist the throttle all the way to feel the power. to be honest m still scared to twist the throttle all the way on the first or second gear because the front WILL jump up suddenly. even though I can do wheelies on an r 15 controlling this thing is a big task!!
The R6's motor is designed for the track, the bike actually screams once you start getting past midrange:

2005 Yamaha R6 First Ride - Motorcycle USA

So anticipate that jump in torque delivery, have fun, ride safe. FYI I unfortunately crash tested the Scorpion Exo helmet, it works .

BTW, do you live in Texas? The Honda Accord license plate in one of your images seems to suggest so. Anyway, if you do live in Texas you should take a week off and head to Ooruy, Colorado. A good route takes you through New Mexico backroads. Those backroads are one of the best motorcycle roads I have been on (comparing to Europe). Again, be very careful on the twisties as you may be going at 70 mph (approx. 112 kph) but then have to slow down to 10 mph (16 kph) in a heartbeat.

@nand15: lowering the seat height does affect bike dynamics. That is why I didn't lower mine, I just got used to it.

    Later.

Great Ride !! I guess the previous owner (girl) has maintained it really well, the bike being 6 years old.

Nice bike & 2500 USD seems a great bargain for such a ride. You are really very lucky
