Am planning to import it to India guys. Actually am having a hard time deciding between an FZ1 and the FZ6. The 1's got the performance and the 6 has got the looks. But then I figure 142 bhp is gonna be quite a handful for our roads, it was quite something for even the roads in the States where I used to ride one. Hence maybe I should settle for the 98 horses the FZ6 offers and its awesome looks.quote:Originally posted by sunny
kris u planning 2 get it abroad or import it to india?
how much is it gonna cost in either case?
Anyway, I was quoted INR7.5lakhs for a brand new FZ1 (landed bangalore) and expect the FZ6 to cost between 6-6.5 as price is yet to be announced. Which one would u guys pic up? Power or out of this world style?Regards,
Kris

OOWS of course!
kris have u give a thought to the new CBR954RR. the one which has got a single pipe through the seat? or a ducati multistrada?
Sports bikes are great fun, but considering the roads I will have to ride one on (not to mention the traffic), I quickly change my mind. I could very well go in for the R1 if I wanted a supersport. The Ducati is more for touring and is an aircooled twin with only 84 horses, moreover italian jobs are a pain to maintain especially in our conditions. I personally prefer the practicality and attitude of the naked street fighters. Kinda has the best of both worlds.
Was riding a friends R6 over the weekend here, it was a lot of fun revving it up but then it lasted a few seconds everytime I tried to blast off. Not to mention the wrist ache that comes with trying to ride it in traffic and my back certianly needed some rest.
That said, am strongly leaning towards the FZ6, it might not have as many ponnies as the FZ1 but I am in love with the way this baby looks. I think I'll save the R1 for next time.Regards,
Kris

You want to stick to Yams only ? Even the Honda Hornet and Suzuki Bandit would be a good deal, if naked / quarter fairing bikes are on ur mind.

I was looking at the hornet 900 as well but have settled on the yamaha finally because the over all package is better. And the bandit is no comparision although it is still a good bike. I only have to decide between the FZ1 and the FZ6.quote:Originally posted by rash_rp

This is a kind of stupid question. But are there mechanics who can handle these bikes in India or are you guys relying on your ur own bike-tech knowledge.
Anyway Kris..... U R Lucky dude. Hey u said (landed B'Lore). Are u from B'Lore? My lifestyle... determines my deathstyle....

I am not from bangalore, but am getting my ride through a chap who's from there. I am from Coimbatore though and we do have a couple of mechanics here who work on bikes. Coimbatore especially is well known for motorsports, cars mostly, but the same guys have their 2 wheeled fun machines and work on them as well.Regards,

Kris,
Who's the guy in Bangalore? can u post the address for 'future' reference? Cos someday when I can afford to I wanna get a really good bike rather than a car.
Sunny,
How about creating a database of bike-importers, bike-modders, etc. on xBhp.com? Lots of ppl seem to keep asking for references to good modders on the forums... Just my two paisa....

I am not sure if I can post the importer's name and address in a public forum without his permission. However, if you are interested I can send it to you by PM or email.quote:Originally posted by bijucool

BTW, I have finally decided on the 1 liter version of the Fazer rather than the 600cc version. Its a 3 month wait though, keeping my fingers crossed.Regards,
