  • Buell 1125CR spotted

Has anyone in the forum got a Buell 1125CR?

Coz I just saw one near my town, chased it the same way I chased praveer, sunil & priansh in the middle of nowhere during the mobiking trip.

Will post pics once I'm back home. Posting one for now

In Buells, like the one above, the front disc is mounted on the rim rather than having the conventional setup like in other motorcycles. This type of setup has the disc contribute in the overall strength of the wheel rim since the disc shares the load along with the spokes of the rim, and hence the buell's rims are made lighter compared to many sport/streetbikes. This is another reason why the disc is bigger in diameter and it's just a single disc upfront against two like in other equally powerful motorcycles.

It was purely by luck I came across this today

Thanks to Hyundai for changing their service center next to NH7 recently, I took our car to service and my brother accompanied me on bike, we were waiting outside showroom & a feeble thunder like exhaust notes were getting closer and closer, it was unlike anything I ever heard of, so I mounted on my trusty little Dazzler and was waiting for it to pass by and then came the beast ......

As it flew by us, from the side I thought it was a Diavel and was like OMFG

Thanks to some maintenance work on NH7, even though he was doing good speeds I was lucky to have him in my sight and finally after some 20odd kms later he slowed down & entered a fuel station and there you go ..........

          P.S: Correction, it was a Buell 1125CR.

Looks like Buell has shut down its operations long back.

I did ask him if he was a member here later for which he said "no", but thought atleast someone on the forum might know of this beast

Want to share a similar story during the Ducati mobiking tour when I spotted the monsters in a similar way and chased them for some 40odd kilometers and thanks to a herd of sheep, was able to catch up with them finally

If you have observed the pic on xBhp feb-mar mag, on page 112, the third bike approaching the monsters is mine and that's me

I always dreamt of starting a thread in this section, with my very own bike, but atleast I started one, this way
hope that someday I'll start a ownership thread too, someday

Now I can brag about saying that I chased down three Ducati Monsters & a Buell 1125CR successfully on a Honda Dazzler :P

                  Thank you.
Yeah That's me, between the two biggies of forum

It's not me that's humble, all three of them sunil, priansh & praveer, coz I never even expected to see a Ducati in flesh, forget about sitting on it. One of the most unforgettable moments of my life, all the adrenaline rush while I went literally on a wild goose chase trying to catch up with Ducati's on a puny 150cc, still fresh in mind.

Now this thread going OT, I should refrain from posting irrelevant stuff here :P

Strange bike, looks like an angry autobot ... but very interesting looks.
The bike looks brand new, newer than brand new ... looks like fresh from the oven..
on visiting the site Buell Motorcycles | Harley-Davidson USA
                    this message is seen, "
                    The Journey Ends Here.

On October 30, 2009, Buell Motorcycle Company closed its doors, bringing an end to a 26-year run. Thanks to all of our customers, dealers and employees for an unforgettable ride."

also it says harley davidson supports spares/service etc now..

                    whats the mystery ?
May the torque be with you..

                      Re: Buell 1125CR spotted

Yeah I saw the odo too, it was hardly ridden. Couldn't remember exact figure, but it's under 1k.

That is what I was wondering, how come a new bike from a shutdown company and moreover the number plate reads applied for registration, American Harley Davidson & Buell with some US address. How can they register a bike which is not even in production? Is it possible?

I think the owner here got this beast for cheap coz Buell has shut down. Maybe nobody was buying it and he got it.....
