AFAIK, the dealer is the person who introduces the buyer with the seller and cuts the deal with his brokerage extra.

I was in search for a legal CBR 600rr for almost a year now and finally saw one with the dealer and started the talks. Even though he said the bike is a clean import with all the papers, I need to know more about it and called him couple if times to know about the bike.

To start off he was not ready to talk to the owner for any kinda negotiation on the price. After which I asked him to just send a soft copy of papers to my mail ID as I live in Bangalore which he denied again and started being rude.

Finally when I check, the bike doesn't have an insurance and he is not ready to just give the license plate number. What he told me was " I have lot of questions and don't take the bike its not for me ".

I am not sure how many of you know this dealer personally but for others, please be careful when you deal with him. A dealer who is not ready to disclose any thing about the bike and being rude is not a dealer, but a danger.

And my search is still on
justin i told you if you want the bike you come personally and check with the paper, as you need the bike you have to travel buddy.

Hope you get a good experience further even if you dealing with anybody else..

    Thanks n Regards
    Aman

      Hi All,

Even I had faced the same issue in Bangalore with a dealer named "Zubaid". Initially when I asked for the used bike he siad yes there is one and showed me 2003 R6 model with Reg No KA-04 EF-5 for which he told 4 lakhs and he asked me to pay the full amount and use for 2 months, If I was not satisfied with the bike then he would return the full amount.

I said I'm sorry and ended up with a new legal GT650R

        Well Aman,

I have been on touch with you for quite sometime.. and do you really think just to see if the papers are clear prospect buyers will travel that far??

I had questions because I have had experience where people say the bike is clear and when I go check it it doesn't appear to be that way.
Another thing is, there is a level of respect that you give for the other person. First you said the bike has insurance, then said No. Being a buyer what would I think. Being rude for having questions about a bike which cost around 5-6L is not the right thing to do. I am sure you will also want to know every detail about anything which you spend on such a huge amount.

Good for you man.. I have decided, either no bike or get a bike from the owner where there is no intervention of dealers and their play around.

Its really difficult unless to know the owner personally, else we need to keep bugging and arguing with the middle men's.... And also very few legal bikes in 600cc class so better find the right one rather ending up with troubles...

              @ justy

I completely understand your plight brother. The same thing happened with me when I was offered the senna edition mv. The owner simply said u can check the papers when u r here to check out the bike. Couldn't make him understand that I wouldn't be interested in checking the bike if papers are not clear. But anyway.

              @ aman

Bro.. I'm sure even his point is right. As far as some other bikes papers being used for some other bike is concerned - I am slightly confused - the papers usually have the VIN number on it. Which would also be there on various parts of the bike. So how can one use the papers for some other bike??

Anyway just a small suggestion. U want to sell the bike and justy wants to buy a bike. I'm sure we can come up with a mutual understanding and go ahead with it. No point quarelling here. He was just confused I'm sure and don't let a simple misunderstanding ruin it all.

              Rest is upto u 2.

Right. And if you cant make the other person understand, just leave it.. That's the same what I did. Never contacted him after that and never will.

guys, im looking to buy a 2nd hand superbike too and was about to start my search for it on november. On reading that some of you have been searching for a year or so , i was .Call me overoptimistic( or plain stupid) but to be honest i expected that find a a good used bike within a month or two

This is a noob question but its was the first thought that crossed my mind while reading your thread, so im asking away - Doesn't the customs dept auction off seized bikes every once in a while? Isn't it possible to get a good legal bike there? Appreciate if someone could throw some light on it please

It's not difficult to find a liter class. We have few ranges of liter class here. But getting a fairly new bike is gonna drain your pockets for sure.

I was offered quite a few liter class bikes. But my heart is stuck on to 600s..

There is a legal R1 for sale 2009/10... Not too sure about the model.. But the quote is 11L, if my memory serves right..

I dint read through the comments here but he obviously got rude because it wasn't a Legal one and he realized that you would look into it with the Reg. No. and who knows if the word spreads that it is illegal-he would be in trouble. He simply tried ignoring you.
