[QUOTE=Neo_da1;132183]Kevin we didnt opt for the resort bcoz that would not have been so much fun....Its my group that i started and i love to make such trips where we camp, rather than stay in hotels...as i am into trekking and adventure stuff...i like to make trips wherein i can do a bit of all activities...and sort of 'take it as it comes' kind of trips

i got that man,and the response here for this trip is overwhelming so i felt i should inform others that there is a resort up there so that those who plan to visit there in future can opt for the same , do u have the resort details i remember that the booking has to be done in advance from the thane office.

Yeah Motorbreath....i had seen 2-3 bikers while returning...dunno whether it was you..but the one i remember and feel it might be you guys were standing with their bikes on the sides of the road...the helmets n stuff made me think they might be from xbhp

Heyy anup...i didnt hear any adivasi or croc story there !!! Infact 2 of our members had been there a month before to do a recce...and after that we decided to camp there....those guys left the falls at 5:00 pm in the evening...and had passed through the forest at night...they inquired with the locals and none of them warned them about any potential danger...even when we reached there...4-5 fisherman from nearby village had set their nets in the pool..and were requesting us not to go in the water bcoz it will spoil their setup of nets...and we gladly obliged...the crocs thing is not possible bcoz even they(all 5) were in the pool setting up nets and going underwater for substantial time...so i dont think there is any croc lying there.

Heyy sure buddy we can surely meetup. And no yaar...my leaning is very bad....as i didnt get any chance to practise it since i got my bike in monsoons....and this is probably my 2nd ride after monsoons...and i need to practise really hard...though should add...my cornering while going was awful....and while returning was awfully better so i feel if i practise regularly..i can soon enjoy my rides more

                @Neo:
I think you should start riding a smaller bike @Ghodbunder for a while, that will help you to control yours speed, balance et all at carious points in a turn! Then may be on the aaaar 6

How far is this place from Jawhar? And how do you make accomodations there (tents etc) and what about food?
Locking the front and flipping is the worst experience you could err experience.

Yeah i need practice...but i feel practicing on my R6 will be better....i can feel the difference every 200 kms..so its better i practise on it....i rode my frnds unicorn on the way....but i was more uncomfy leaning on it...so i feel i better stick to what im gonna ride and wanna ride...but if it doesnt help...i think ur idea makes sense too

R6 will be definitely better, but the problem is that a small error would/could be fatal....! Definitely not worth taking that chance....

On a smaller bike, you will learn smaller nuances of balancing, try a RTR, or a R15, they are better to lean.... try something that is peppy... a Unicorn is anything but peppy (sorry but my personal opinion)

Ride a lot on R6, and then you will find the smaller bikes as 'toys' and should gain a lot of control on it....

When you are confident enough, respect the power that the R6 has, and start practicing on it!

But honestly dont try and learn such stuff on it.... definitely not worth it and a small error could mean a whole lotta damage...

Err you dont have to be gung ho on leaning for riding bikes. I cant lean 25 percent of what a lot of my mates can do on superbikes. That doesnt stop me from riding them. Its just personal limit thats all.

Man the car was surely stuffed, and it sure seems you guys had fun. I think ill plan something like this soon. But whats the fun if you need a car anyways.

The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Hmm satyen...what you say makes sense buddy I shall keep that in mind....but by saying 'learning to lean' i was not talking about trying to lean hard on R6...by practicing i meant.....ride as much as possible and gradually reach that level, i am not gonna forcibly lean....and rightnow i am not aiming at the kind of leaning where the pegs kiss the tar...i am talking about basic leaning and i think i am more comfy on R6 bcoz i am used to the seating position which on other bikes is VERY different and for me takes quite a bit of riding and then i get used to the new seating position....and what you said about unicorn might be true...but i just rode it bocz the friend whom i gave my R6 had tht bike...and someone had to ride it, and it had to be me

I dunno much abt the technicality of leaning etc but i somehow feel the power of R6 even at lower speeds makes it easier for me to lean. I am not able to explain it properly ...i might be wrong too but shall try n explain you in person whenev we meet I guess after writing this i am gonna search for the riding tips for sbk thread where i had read alot about leaning when my bike was yet to arrive

But please do correct me if i am wrong I am not that good at the intricacies of riding and seriously need all the suggestions.

And as far as respecting the power R6 has...all i would say is i am not awed by power and speed...else i wudnt pay almost the same price for my R6 that i would get an R1 for...i love riding and shall do it responsibly and passionately...i dont look for a reason to open the throttle...till now the power of 600cc has never gone off my head...and im sure it will never go....i have my family and the least i can do for this biking fraternity is to ride responsibly, it already has many irresponsible members who defame it..we cant ban them from riding...but atleast we can turn the proportions in our favour

Kenda...as you know, you inspired me for the write up of my R6 which i did going through your thread And now, inspired from your rajasthan touring, i am planning a Mum-Udaipur-Mum ride in 3rd week of dec. I am planning to go there bcoz from udaipur my hometown is just 150 kms lets see...as it is i was going to pm you for ur suggestions tday

Thats what i was trying to say...i am not hell bent on leaning like a pro...i am just aiming at riding and lean till i feel comfortable(and the more i ride my R6 the more comfortable i will be)....at curves i lose alot of speed and if im able to lean slightly better i wont have to brake so much and then again gain speed, thats all i want at this point...and thats what i was tryin to imply..but i guess i wrote it in such a manner that everybody thought i am aiming for leaning like a pro

We needed the car bcoz we had planned for overnight camping and so has lots of luggage..tents, mats, food, stove etc we wudnt have been able to carry that on bikes.

Just one question. Where did you park your R6 when you were camping at dabhosa??
Definitely seems like your bike was out of sight from the camping spot!!
