Just load the DP tune provided by tuneboy. If you have a dyno and someone who can tune it on the dyno using the tuneboy that would be ideal. Tuneboy is very powerful, but help and ducmentation is sparse; you will need to experiment for the more advanced features. You can connect a wideband lambda, autotune, QS, multi map, etc.
Alternatively send your stock ecu to doug in the US and he'll flash it for you. Also ask for matched injectors.sigpic StreetFighter

thats excatly what i did. i tuned my bike using tuneboy and connected it to my laptop via wifi. i first made a back up of my original ecu and then loaded the DP tune with the tuneboy. did not really need the dyno cos i could feel a major difference in the ride itself, but it would be fun to get it on a dyno and see the power difference.
the DP tune is basically a ducati perfomance tune. i think it automatically de activates the exhaust flap which gets rid of the low speed knocking in first gear. now when i start my bike, instead of "streetfighter" coming on the display i get "SF RACING" but you could change that to anyhting you want using tuneboy.Ducati streetfighter 1098.

It does deactivate the flap but that's not the reason why the low range fueling is improved. Most if not all bikes these days are horribly lean at low revs for emission laws. When we put on aftermarket open cans they get leaner. The DP tune which came with tuneboy richen up the fueling and if I'm not mistaken also alters the timing.Originally posted by fred View Postthats excatly what i did. i tuned my bike using tuneboy and connected it to my laptop via wifi. i first made a back up of my original ecu and then loaded the DP tune with the tuneboy. did not really need the dyno cos i could feel a major difference in the ride itself, but it would be fun to get it on a dyno and see the power difference.

The exhaust flap is just for passing noise regulations at low revs, it does nothing to or for the power.sigpic StreetFighter

I dont think it causes any engine problems but it will keep the engine temps on the higher side as the water pump works better at higher revs....but most of the engine heat problems are faced on the full faring variants and mostly the nakeds would not have heating issues. Plus these are known issues and can be improved upon by aftermarket options if the heat really starts to become an issue....generally these are great bikesOriginally posted by Ghost11 View Post+1. This is the one thing every Ducati as well as MV owners should know. From forums and other sites i have come to know that if these bikes(MV,Ducati) are ridden below 5K rpm for prolonged time, in the long run they can create engine problems. The explanation given was that the water pump does not work to its full potential below 5K rpm.RX 100

i have to agree with you there, i have ridden this bike in full mumbai traffic and it did not get over heated like i thought it would. its actually no bad at all in traffic. but the clutch pull is a little heavy.Originally posted by Streetfighter View PostI have to say, the SF is one of the best bikes for heat issues. Even in full on Mumbai traffic the heat isn't a major worry.
Higher revs = higher speed = cooler bike environment

It's a man's bike as far as the clutch is concerned :-) it's really hard on the wrists too, surpriing for a naked streetbike to have such an extreme riding position but I think it was done intentionally to keep some weight on the front else the bike would move on one wheel only.sigpic StreetFighter

Hard clutch...
You will get used to the clutch,
I ordered a cluth actuator, but never fixed it. The cluth atcuator eases the effort in applying the clutch.
But as i said you will get used to it.
Somethin that you might want to invest in could be a ducati visor. It will give you good wind clearance at high speeds, ideally good benefit is noticed after 230kmph+. Its a great bike and i might bring it along/cargo to india in sometime.
I have a qusetion though. Ideally i use 95%front brakes and 5% rear, so now, knowing the inconsistensy of the indian roads .... Do u think you'll not crash !!
Just a thot ?!

Also for the fun bit,
You can get a smartphone holder for bikes and record your hd videos at high speeds and cutting thru traffic . I am gonna start doing that soon.
Ideally you would want 20% if the lower half of the screen showing your digitalspeedo,
I'll post soem and youtube soon and link em here ...
Also guys , how many Streetfighters in India and Mumbai ?
The Ducati rep on phone said only 2 in Mumbai !

Awesome ride man.
now the forum has 2 of these beasts.
Love the Carrozzeria wheels. They look stunning. Those are part of my planned mods for the R1. Although they will have to wait a while.
