It's not 21 riding modes... it's 3 drive modes coupled with 7 staged Traction Control giving the rider a total 21 riding optionsOriginally posted by sunny_ View PostThanks. And yes, it is right that you'll be confused, but to sort it out you might meet Delhi superbikers, they can give you idea about riding gears plus you can check those stuffs 'live'. And sorry dude, no clue about the tax thing, but personally DL looks cooler and you can choose your set of numbers if you wish due to the large set available being a metropolitan.
Keep us updated with pics and features like 21 riding modes and traction control etc.
Enjoy

Congratulations Anurag! Finest choice there! Been waiting for a 2012 R1 on xBhp!
Superb machine and might i add 'deadliest' of all the SBK looks!
Would suggest full face helmet instead of modular for maximum protection.
For leather suit check out : A* Tech 1R
I prefer A* over other brands.Just my personal choice as i find A* products reliable.
Ride Safe!Dont go for a ride without proper riding gear! You can try and get all the
stuff before the delivery of the bike, if you just cant wait after its arrival (which is
justifiable offcourse
)!
Cheers.

No to Modular's.Why not consider a nice Full Face ARAI/SHOEI?Originally posted by kinshuk.arya View Postany particular reason why you are going for a modular helmet with an SBK?Smoke rubber, not tobacco.

For the starters buy a helmet, and buy something that is not as costly as ARAI/SHOEI or too cheap, buy something which is good enough to protect you for now and can be used by your pillion later on, when you buy a costlier lid...Originally posted by anuragsrivastava2005 View Postquoting the joker…

and the consequences are that i am broke to the core..i do not have the finances to buy everything at the same time, dunno what to do..and i was liking the helmet that was the only reason, anyways since you guys are against it..i won't buy it..but i am in serious trouble, the bike is gonna be here any day,and the moolah is only going to come next month,i am in no condition to afford such expensive gear.
riding without the gear is a complete no no.
guys i just don't know what to do.
Example, Carbon fibre Helmets... they are very strong, very light weight...
Daijya Carbon fibre helmet 13k rupees...
LS2 Carbon fibre 10k rupees(in hyderabad, i gues you can get it for cheaper in bangalore or someother place)
Steel Bird Carb fibre helmet 8-10k rupees (Have read an article about it in xbhp sometime back)...Last edited by saipranav; 01-03-2012, 10:11 PM.Apache 180

First of all congratulations on the bike.Assuming you have basic motorcycle riding time under your belt the only advice/suggestion i can give is Ride Ride Ride. Just ride as much as you can after you take delivery. The more you ride the more you going to get comfortable with the bike. Take it out in the evening through traffic , early morning bursts and soon you ll be at ease with the bike.Keep you right wrist in check and the bike will make sure she keeps you in check. As far as gear is concerned its an endless topic so pick what you like and that fits you well. Dont need to buy everything just yet. Get a good lid first of all. Slowly you can pick up the jackets/gloves/boots etc.Last edited by bigron; 01-03-2012, 11:08 PM.2011 Suzuki GSX1300R - Tiforce full titanium DUAL 380 MM, ECU editor Flashed , Unrestricted , custom Map, PCV, Steel Braided Lines , Supersprox F/R, Evotech keyless, Pazzos , FP Tactical , speed o healer , ebc Extreme Pro , Zero Gravity DB , BMC race a/f , Brembo Radial M/C , Galfer Wave rotors F/R , Brembo HP Calipers , Brembo Reservoir, Corbin Custom Seats f/r , Dual HIDs, custom paint and GPR V4 SS.

Congratulations Anurag for the R1. your wet dream is coming true.
As far as the gears are concerned I would suggest you to buy moderately priced good quality helmet. The jacket, gloves and knee pads can be bought from DSG under 10K in total.
All the best for the ride of a lifetime. Have a blast by riding faster but smoother and most importantly safer.

Good choice! Due to financial constraints for now,i guess this is your best bet.Light and does the job well.Looks cool too.Originally posted by anuragsrivastava2005 View Post
& Dont think so much for riding gear.Go with what you like and what fits well.Gear can be upgraded time and again. You yourself
have chosen your steed,so you can choose your gear.As far as its from a reputed manufacturer, you can go with what suits you
the best, according to your needs
The more you look and the more different people will advice, the more confusing it will get.
Remember - "Too many cooks, spoil the broth! "
Cheers.
