  • On my toes while riding the CB100R

Hey guys!! Have got a querry n hope to get some responce...positive i suppose??
I'm on my toes while riding my cb1000r to reach the ground. Guess some way to make more contact with my feet?
Well, before you say, have tried but alas! cannot stretch more vertically.

Also suggest best can for my bike.Would it be better to decat or a slipon would do good?Do all after market performance cans require to remap stock settings?

Hey Captain Rohit, Welcome to Xbhp.

Did you try reducing the suspension's preload by a click or two? I'm not sure where I read about it but I'm sure it affects stationary ride height. But again, just remember your original settings before adjusting it.

Me also faced that problem when I rode a 600rr. Im 175cm with shorty legs. Though its not a problem on the open roads but its good to have both your legs down at crawl speeds,on inclines and while backing up. I guess we have to just live with it and know our limitations. Altering the suspension is not worth it, i mean the R&D spends so much effort in getting the suspension right on this beauties. May be boots with taller sole can help.

For bikes with thick seats we can cut it open and take some of the cushion out (I know this is not the best solution )

P.S: Please change the title of the thread from CB100R to CB1000R

Anything from lowering links to modified seats to spacers.. You could also get a lowering kit for both front and rear. Also internal front forks adjustment will do the trick.

              CB1000R vs my feet...what a feat??

What info i have collected so far, seems the lowering kit does affects the handling of the bike so for now i'm staying off it.
Can try to trim off the excess fat off the seats though!

Any advise on the zorst upgrade ??

lowering links or for that matter front and rear kits will not affect handling. i ve ridden extensively on lowered superbikes from the busa to the r6 and did not feel any drop in handling. you mite have to re work your lean angle for track days but for streets i seriously doubt you will see any handling issues.

u can open the seat & trim some of the foam off, u will sacrifice comfort but u will also gain better confidence by having more of your feet on the ground, just remove your seat & go to a car seat accessory shop & tell them to trim the foam, you should be able to trim at least 1/2 inch, will make a big diff. enjoy your ride & ride safe..

Look at Soupy's lowering link kits if they are available for your bike. one of the best available in the market.you ll have to order them from overseas and have them shipped then find a professional to fit them. yana shiki and maybe vortex will also have these kits. you might have to do a lateral pre load adjustment after lowering the bike. You may also need to look at steering dampers.Having said all this , i am not too sure how the cb 1000 r will react to lowering links. And if you work on the forks you might get increased tank slappers. If you okay with all the changes go ahead. Other option is ride as much as you can and soon you ll get used to the bike the way it is. We have some one who is 5.6 and rides the cb1000r and says hez pretty okay with the bike now as compared to initially.

I face the same issue with my GT650R , am 165 cms and only half the foot touches down when stationary, so only the toe part can support the weight. I was also very uncomfortable at first but 2200 kms down, am okay with it, in traffic it is not a problem.

The only issue i face is when pushing the bike back on a slope taking it out of any parking - the task seems pretty impossible with the short height

I would suggest just get some miles on the odo and if you still dont feel at home, just go and get the lowering kit as mentioned by bigron.

Got used to tip-toeing.......but now there is another worry??
These damn Right U turns and there is no way avoiding them .Cant use the front brakes in here as will lock the front and rear is difficult as my right foot trails the rd for safety sake.
SR sets in and i hold tight ,landing me wide on the turns.

Bro, Cb1000R has C-ABS. There's no way those wheels will lock. Also, you're not really supposed to use the rear unless it's an emergency.
