  • The used superbike buying guide

Buying a used super bike is a good idea for most of us who love these mechanical marvels.Their up's being high affordability, also you lose much less on depreciation if you are one of those people who are taking the step by step procedure on buying a super bike. There's also a downside to it dealers have an appetite for charging exhorbitant prices claiming them to be premium products, also most of us are venturing into the market for the very first time or generally do not have much experience with them.
This brings me to the idea of the thread, i have started looking for a nice and legal used bike now,So i thought such a thread would help everyone in a similar situation.
    It could post suggestions like
What should be on your quick checklist?
What to look in a bike to indicate of it's usage in the past?
What does a legal import include in the paperwork?
What kind of bikes must one stay away from?[nagging problems etc.]
The things to look for when you are taking a test ride or just a good look?
What should be the average price for selling off/ buying a certain bike of a certain year?
Any other things that i have missed out to develop a complete guide for buying an import/superbike.

That was pretty helpfull, thank you for that.
And what about the bikes these custom auctions offer. They are offered at an as in basis so what does one need to check for.And also has anyone got a bike through any such auction or has any knowledge of what the process is like?

            bumping up an old thread.
Does anyone have an idea as to how the custom auction procedure works for bikes? What kind of legal formalities come into play and once auctioned are they completely legal bikes?
