I always name my things as "The"...., so naturally s/he became TheBlade

I did think hard about the Ducati... but if I were to even consider one, it would have to be the 1199 Panigale. But considering its cost and the fact that it is one of the worst street bikes money can buy (for its price), I let pass.

I already wrote what I thought about the HD and the BMW.

And thanks... I do plan to respect the power "within." Because I am sure the moment I behave bad, the bike will chew me up and spit me out like a gerbil.

I can tick one thing of my bucket list (creating a SBK ownership thread on Xbhp... been there since I knew about this site.)

Thats weird thought, I would expect the 650 to fare a lot more... How does it fare on the high ways?

60 kms daily through the citys bottle necks , Dont expect any more.
On the Highways I get 22-27kpl.
650 or a 250 or a Litre . Bangalore traffic doesnt discriminate it :-P

An amazing write up that. Enjoyed reading thoroughly. Many congratulations and all the best. I am sure your acquisition of an SBK on your own at the age of 28 is an inspiration to many, including me.

I won't dare ask about the performance. However, I would like to know about the feedback from your pillion on long rides. (Since you mentioned it was one of your +ves towards the blade.) I have an R15V2 and the tail section is surprisingly similar

Ur review was really good and interesting to read. She looks fantastic in red. And Honda really are great in designing exhausts(the sound). Seems like Honda won ur heart in the competition between Yamaha and Honda. It was the same for me too and went for the Honda CBR150R( dilemma between R15V2 and CBR150). But still my bike is nowhere near yours

If I had to get a 1000cc bike right now fireblade would be the one(exotics and too impractical for our country

).Initially I used to prefer R1 over other bikes (just like you!)but things changed after reading lot of reviews and comparison videos.Blade just blows away other bikes in its class with user-friendly power delivery and handling.And congratz BTW

Bike looks lovely in red.Do post more pics of the beast!

Agreed; on the same lines of thought, spending more time on the saddle & at the same time enjoying the ride matters a lot than riding fast & going unnoticed about the roadside scenic; ofcourse, we can't do that all the time, on any day, control & speed should go hand in hand to welcome safety, especially when you've more power

Well, surprisingly my One gives an avg of 13-14kmpl in city (on Speed 97) and 17-18 kmpl on the highways !!

This is the best review I have ever read so far...all questions answered in such a satisfactory way. I too have a dream of owning a super bike and I was too inclined towards R1 also my urge to buy a superbike is strong sometimes and then i feel that i should invest in a property first or instead of a superbike should go for a nice sedan...

But after going through this thread I have made up my mind...This is the right age to do the right things...so i dont want to regret later in my life...fixed my mind...CBR for sure...now have to start planning and preparing to get my dream fulfilled...

First off many congratulations to you on your latest acquisition. The fireblade sure is one hell of a super-bike and the colour is mighty dandy as well. I quite liked the way you were able to transcend from your thoughts right into your narration....ethereally put. It feels almost like deja-vu cause I gifted myself my brand new Suzuki Gsxr1000 when I was 28 as well...all by the Almighty's blessings of course.

On a finishing note...just five words......ride safe & have fun!!
