Blade is a sensible choice for first timers. It is a very forgiving bike and the torque spread is just amazing. Only the S1000RR has a mass centralization as good as (dare I say better than) the blade. The color combo surely looks much better than the HRC. My friend bought the HRC and I was very disappointed to see it. My 2007 HRC included special paint scheme and limited edition rims which I havent seen on any SBK till date. 2012 HRC is a plain jane white bike with some stickers! Why call it limited edition? I fail to understand.

I read your post in which you complained about the pain on your wrists and back. Well the pain is inevitable while riding a SBK although it eases down as you put on more miles (and reduce some kilos ) I suggest you check your riding style as well. Try to hold the tank with your thighs thereby allowing to reduce the amount of pressure you need to apply on the handlebars. As a matter of fact, the guideline is to hold the handlebar as lightly as possible. These bikes are super-engineered so you dont have to worry about holding handlebars tightly to keep it on its course. Hope this helps.


P.S. Get a better helmet (if you havent got it already)

I am tired of being told to go through the motions in life and to play the constant game of appreciation and depreciation. I am 28 now. In 2 years I might have a 3rd member in my family. In 22 years I will be 50. I want to live a life which has more check marks filled in rather than just against "How many houses bought?" "Big bank balance" Some people are very satisfied doing just that. I am not one of them. If I was, I would not have started my own forum too

And I will think of a car when the Ferrari is within my reach. Till then my Skirt will serve the purpose.

Congratulations.

i really liked the attitude of both bike and rider.
having a big bike doesn't mean that one has to ride always it at insane speed. infact it gives more responsibility and big bikes are always more secure for the rider if ridden in comfortable speeds [consider 100-140kmph].
i know many ppl who always say , why your not riding fast with big bike ? its hard to explain to those ill-informed ppl.
and i liked your ans for why didn;t you buy car ??
i will use your ans from now onwards if you dont mind :P

Congratulations, bro. That's my favourite colour for the Blade, which is why I have one as well. Regarding your arms hurting, it's not your weight, it's incorrect riding posture. Download and watch "A Twist of the Wrist" by Keith Code, the founder of CSS. It will change everything you know about riding. Even better, sign up for CSS 2014 in India. That's the best advice I can give any newbie superbiker. Ride safe!

This mod opens up a valve in the stock exhaust which was probably put in by Honda to pass sound emission certification in California and other parts of the world. It essentially opens up the exhaust and gives a much bassier tone than otherwise. It simply involves opening up a panel under the main seat and disconnecting a simple cable from the motor which controls it (thereby keeping it always open.)

Its simple enough that I could do it with eyes closed last month. Also, I think this video will do justice to the "what" part of your question.

Absolutely. I owe the CBR1000RR for changing my life for the better. Not only did I become a regular to the gym (and dropped the kgs), I also started playing squash recently. I am now able to ride close to 400+ kms in a span of 8 hours and not feel like Constantine.

The HESD (steering damper) and a proper riding posture ensure that I can actually drive it very casually at speeds approaching 180 kmph. And the ABS is a life saver (more on that later.)

My 1 year anniversary with the bike is coming up (can't believe it came so soon) and I am almost at 8000 km. Will write up a detailed ownership report and the experiences I have gone through during this time

Awesome,,,, I almost lost hope & visited Erodov to dig more on your blade (update thread). And yea, maybe the first few cases, I just ran outta luck to see her.

Sorry, my bad. I saw it last evening... in the parking lot, but it was not kept the way you showed in your pics & video (not the corner; diagonal bet/w cars). Time was around 6.15-30 'ish pm. Looked like she was just out from a bath (shiny). People were shocked to see me gazing at the parking lot; 'what stupidity' looks. Those fools, little do they know!! I checked it out twice -

• while goin' with GF & she was like 'Enough'!!, although she kept telling me that she sees the blade in the parking on her way to CAB after I alerted her about a SBK in the vicinity;
• and while coming back alone, 'took a good look at details but it was gettin' dark (the light from the tube was at the back of the bike)

Nothing technical that I am capable of pointing out for your ownership report but trust me, I am all game to read it!! Man, I envy you
