Beautifully narrated... oozes your emotions! And stunning pictures as well and I am biased too 'cause I like the FZ1 more than its immediate peers
Thank you very much
I am Glad that "my thread made your day", wish you all the best for your sbk dreams

Here is the video of my FZ1 fly-by. Somehow couldn't record the sound properly but it pretty much gives an idea how it sounds!
bike was under 6000rpm for most of the time during video.

Hope you guys enjoy it

harsha645 Could you please give some tips and pointers about:
1. What all documents should be checked when we are buying a used Indian invoice bike ?
2. How to know if it's Indian invoiced?
3. How to find out the manufacturing year from documents /body?
4. Anything more to verify?

First of all, let me mention that i always wanted to get the bike directly from seller instead of dealer. Though it might take sometime in finding the one wanted but it definitely is worth the wait

Fortunately the person whom i got the bike from is very genuine and co-operative all throughout the process

1,2&3. The first thing to check is the invoice bill one gets from the showroom at the time of purchase. Its not uncommon for the owner to misplace it, however the showroom guys must be able to provide another copy in a day or two
The invoice copy mentions most of the details like time of purchase/year of manufacture and legality of the bike.
Nothing better than invoice copy to verify the legality and age of the bike

you need get the NOC in your name From the RTO in which the bike is registered,it should be written to the RTO office in which you are going to get it registered,Make sure you get this as soon as possible after the purchase.

If desired if you can get a BOND paper stating that you have purchased the vehicle with the relevant details mentioned.Just in case if anything goes wrong it will be useful

4. Since super bikes are limited in numbers in any city, you can know about it by enquiring with your friends or fellow super bikers if you know any!
As you are looking at legal bikes, you can get service/accident details from the mechanic who works at the respective service centre
Better to inspect the bike very carefully and if you are not sure about yourself, better take someone who has experience in this!

Regards,

It has been a while since i have updated the thread. Thanks to my busy schedule, dint do any long rides after the last ride to horsley hills. However have done couple of short(250kms) rides almost every weekend.
Posting some pics from those rides!

These are from a short ride on NH-9(towards vijayawada),As you can see couple of bonnies and a ninja250 joined me for the ride :

Couple of updates on the bike :

1. METZELER M5 SPORTEC TYRE

Finally after long search and wait, the tyre reached me on monday.Got the tyre in stock size i.e 190/50. Stuck to metzeler this time as i just need to replace the rear tyre and its not a good idea to have different pattern tyres in front and rear.

Will be shifting to michelin next time, either pilot road2 or 2CT depending on the availability.

This tyre lasted me for around 6500 kms and i am totally satisfied with the grip it offered.

Got this from Lets gear up,Banglore. It was a good experience dealing with them.

2.PAZZO LONG FOLDING LEVERS(RED)

This is mainly to add some bling to the bike and pazzos are always in wish list,so finally took the plunge and got them. However i changed only the clutch lever as the brake lever doesn't fit on the brembo set-up(which is not OEM)

I stuck to folding levers as they dont break in case of small fall(i hope i will never get a chance to test them)

Bought them from Performance racing store, mumbai.

Attaching a pic for reference(downloaded from internet)
Do note that this is "Non-folding" one.

Re: Story Of my FizZy Monster : YAMAHA FZ1 Ownership experience

Really nice to see the FZ 1 doing rounds... Fantastico. Nice write ups too. Very helpful.

How does she handle inside town? Weight management in slow 'stop-go' speeds i mean..

Also, would Yamaha Dealership oblige if one wanted a Fazer 1000 instead of the fully naked version? If not is it easy in India to source and get the semi fairings with dual headlights fixed?

Thanks.

Cheers and keep posting up... hoping you take fizzy for another one of those long rides.

Congratulations. Very nice bike sir!

OT: That yellow bike looks really cool in that picture. Wondering which bike is that?

Edit- Oops never mind. I never read your reply to the person below your post. That sure is a rare sight here in India. Not one, but two RSV4's! Enjoy sir [emoji3]

Re: Story Of my FizZy Monster : YAMAHA FZ1 Ownership experience

Been a while since i have updated the thread, so thought of posting some pics from the rides done in past few months

RIDE TO NAGARJUNA SAGAR(JUNE 2014)
The ride included all types of bikes like couple of ninja250's,ninja 650,HD superlow,HD streetbob, aprilia rsv4,triumph 800xc,bonnies(hadnful of them) and yours truly on Fz1.
We left hyderabad by 7:00 AM and luckily for us the weather was too good(cloudy) and took a different route than the regular hyderabad-nagarjuma sagar. This route has typical 4-lane highway for almost half the way and after that it was normal two lane roads which are fun to ride on in their own way!
Immediately after we reached the place,we decided to relax for while in the pool and then proceed for the dam&other places.Meanwhile few of us decided to visit the places, return to the hotel and then relax.
Within couple of hours we had our lunch(which included the delicious fish fry)and decided to start on journey in different route. It started raining heavily once we were half way which forced us to stop in a village and to our luck we could find chai&pakoda and relished over them.As there were no signs of the rains stopping,we decided to go ahead in the rain. Thanks to the rain in last leg of ride,I felt fresh even after returning home!

After this we rode to vijayawada as a friend of mine was picking a pre-worshipped N650 from there. It was almost a 600 km ride and thanks to the weather we were totally drained out by the time we reached hyderabad. Not many clicks on this ride

After this i was off the saddle for close to 2 months(apart from short in-city rides). So used this time to add some accessories and do some cosmetic changes to the bike, though i am satisfied with look for now, will change the bike color to something flashy few months down the line

In between got a detailed service done which included:
- Engine oil change(upon my mech's recommendation changed from Motul 300v to Xado fully synthetic oil)
- Oil filter was replaced, cleaned the airlifter(K&N) and coolant change
- Throttle body, injectors cleaning and also got compression checked in all the cylinders
- changed the brake-pads to EBC HH sintered ones in the front, these deserve a special mention, the feel&feedback is totally amazing.Even though these are little noisy when compared to the stock ones, i would any day choose the EBC ones over the OEM.

In addition to these also got the belly pan, led tail lamp with integrated indicators and stomp grips on to the bike along with cosmetic mods.

Have done couple of breakfast rides in last weeks on my favourite NH7 towards nagpur and on the NH9 towards vijayawada.Attaching few pics from the rides!

Ride towards NH7(nagpur) accompanied by rsv4,speed triple,gt650 and couple of ninja 650's

Towards vijayawada on NH9 with my friend on speed triple, we exchanged the ride for 20kms.Though it was low on power when compared to my fz1, it dint fail to impress me.An amazing machine at that price

Inside town she does fine except for the obvious heating because of the traffic which is common for any higher cc bikes.
I don't think yamaha themselves will be able to get you the fazer.I don't think you can find the fairings here in india but you can always import(eBay.com).There are plenty of them available

I follow your thread in Xbhp and TBHP as well. I can see your FZ going through Cosmetic MOds step by step : ). Where did you source the belly Pan. Even I also ride an FZ..Shez a beauty isn't she? I didn like my bike when I first brought. I felt it was too plain. But slowly I started loving her. I have a LeoVince fitted in mine. Hows effective is the Brembo M cylinder and brakes?

Thanks umesh
Have sourced the belly pan from eBay.com(seller from greece). Most of the fz1 owners i know the belly pan from eBay and few bought puig ones which are too expensive.
I agree with you, FZ slowly grows on you

I have Brembo MC,HEL steel braided lines on my FZ1, There is very good improvement in braking when compared to stock one.But i don't know if it is because of the brembo MC or Hel lines.
Brembo MC with lever offered you very good range of adjustments of the lever, you can adjust the play according to your wish.

I have recently changed to EBC HH sintered brake pads as the stock pads have worn out,the brakes do feel a bit more sharper with EBC's compared to stock!
