The love for bikes to me was put in me by my best friend Tarun when I was studying in first year of my college. Those were the days were RX 135, RDs were ruling and we Keralites love offroading. You can see the amount of races we have every calendar year to justify the same.
My first bike was RX 135 which I managed to buy after my college. Did lot of trip on that. However, owning a SBK was always our dream. But that time no one could afford but we always used to tell each other One Day. Hmmm, with a grinn on our faces.
Time went by and we went in separate ways. I got a job in Bangalore and he went abroad. But the passion which was ignited during my college days never died. All I have been dreaming about is owning a SBK with my own money One day..
Like any average Indian owning a 10lakh plus bike was out my dream and I really had to work hard for the same. I grew old and shifted jobs but I used to maintain a bank account which I opened in College to save the money for my dream to come true.
My first salary was 6500 Bucks out of I started saving with INR1500 back in 2006
I changed my bikes in the mean while Rx 135, RXZ 5 speed, Fiero and finally ended up in KarizmaMy first try to buy a SBKCons: Getting the parts sourced in case of a crash would be a pain
Can get only 3rd party insurance done
Didn't know much service centers who can genuinely service these bikes.
Well...with loads of pain. I had to drop the plan.

Turning points in my life
--------------------------------
1. First incident
I am blessed with lot of good friends who share the same passion. It is through my friend Arun I was introduced to Nahas (Well, No matter how many thanks I tell him, it will never be enough) who gave the opportunity for me to ride and feel the first SBK. Well that too a BMW K 1300S. Oh boy what a day it was. I didn't know what quick shifter was... Bloody hell she was a beast...
I did not sleep for an entire day after that.. What a Day it was...
I promised myself that day no matter how much hardship I take I will buy a bike soon.
2. Second Incident
Tarun buying a legal CBR600RR (Yes fully legal)
Oh boy, I was so much excited when I heard that he brought the bike. I flew down to Kerala and rode the bike. Well, she was so sweet especially the exhaust note.
This one really made me go mad about Triumph and one fine I snapped out and went ahead and brought my FZ1. Frankly, FZ1 was never considered as the Option as I always wanted to start on a 600CC bike. But you know....we would never know.. All my friends suggested start with a naked rather than a super sport. Guess, they were never wrong....

This bike may not look really appealing. Well, at least for me it was not. But the looks and the bike will slowly make you fall in love with her. Power delivery is so damn crazy after 7k RPM. Guess all FZ owners will approve. You really feel the pull when you open up the throttle. First gear flat out 145Km and second gear flat out at 175Kms. Rest all gears I have not got a chance to flat out : ) But have clocked above 200Ks in rest of the 4 gears.
Mods done on my FZ: Custom made Tail tidy and Rear LED indicators, Leo Vince Slip on, Dan moto Clip ons, Puig Screen, Carbon fiber hydro graphics, Pazzo golden color Shorty livers
Upcoming Mods: PC5, Rear sets and IVANs ECU flash (Well, this is a long time goal)
My gear
-----------
Suit: Agv sport Laguna two piece suit
Jackets: Cramster textile Jacket, DSG Nero
Boots: Alpinestars SMX plus 2012 boots and a half boot
Lids: Nexx X1R, AGV K2, ICON AIRMADA Hi- Viz, ARAI CORSA AIR V
Protection: Knox chest and backbone protector
Communication: SENA SMH5
I have no regrets for my buy over street triple. Personally I believe Japs are any day better than European ones (Except my dream bike BMW K1300R)
My close ones used to tell me I will choose a BIKE over a Woman anytime if given a choice... L.O.L. Gents You know How it is right?
Thanks to my Ramiya and DadI still remember what my dad told when I told him about the FZ. Fellow bikers I am writing this because I know that there thousands of hard core bikers who talk and dream about bikes more than anything in the world. All I can say to them is - yes!! Money is a constraint in India. But nothing is Impossible. You can do it!!! I would be happy if my story gives at least 10% boost in achieving your dreams.
One advice: Prioritize your goals in life. After all we live only once

Superbikes are the only things on which a fat a$$ looks amazing
