Nice post from you, MSRanade. I own a 1990 model KB100 (the RX-beating Delta-tuned RTZ model; not the lame-ass base KB). I have to say they are just freaking awesome. Mine has a Ceriani front and Munjal rear.

And I agree completely about the endurance bikes. I have a Husky SM-610 that has apocalypse-proof build quality and can pretty much ride over anything. The handling beats anything I've ridden before and the 142-kg weight makes conventional superbikes look and feel like miniature hippos.
Who needs more than 70 bhp when you don't need to slow down for the corners?

It was not a time to launch such sports bike cause bikes were shared within the family members. (Now every family member is having separate two wheeler) It could have been a funny scene to see young boy is carrying his old age uncle on such a sporty vehicle. Also like RX 100 and KB 100 it was not a multy mode vehicle. What I mean is these two vehicles were even used by mid age people and no way these people could have used sporty SX Enduro to travel to the office. Kawasaki Bajaj 4S was also launched and probably parents might have thought of 4S over SX Enduro for economy and low power. This way they managed to secure the purpose of sharing the vehicle, reduced pocket expenses on fuel, and rid from rash driving of their children. (since 4S was very low on power compare to SX) But one thing for sure SX Enduro was very powerful in comparison to RX & KB. You can find this vehicle in movie Sarfarosh Makarand Deshpande riding this bike.

Many times it is considered that Prowler got a body of Caliber (Croma) but thats not true. Prowler was designed and was ready before the launch of the Caliber but due to strengthen environmental norms market launching was slightly delayed. But still it was launched well before Calliber Croma.

Prowler was actually the first bike to come with 5 Speed Gear Box, Front Disk Brake, (Made by Brembo) and Catalytic converter.

I am the lucky owner of one of the very rare vehicle (2001 model). Very thoughtfully full grip Tyre was given on front over the standard ribbed pattern. It was very useful for high speed braking and or while braking on the corners. Those days Disc was not popular but I found it very effective and safe, thanks to Brembo and Bajaj. Soon CBZ & Pulser with disc brake was launched and we heard about several skidding incidents due to disc locking. Riding experience was also way better than RX and KB (I Own these both RX & KB Bikes so I can compare them) Power, Control, Handling, Braking and comfort was simply great. Suspension was also very good Surprisingly Bajaj used Munjal Showa Shock Absorber. Overall build quality was way better than the competition.

Due to strengthen environmental norms, increased fuel pricing these vehicles phased out.

I still own these Two stroke legends.....
can you please post a pic of prowler... the description, the period of its launch has made me curious...
        thanks in advance

          Hello !

For Prowler Details and Photos kindly follow below link.

Actually there was no official launching of this model, This model was displayed in an Auto Exhibition and I was very impressed with the features and quality spares used hence was willing to get this bike. I ordered this bike to a local Bajaj Dealer and he arranged the bike for me.
