come to think about it, a local product by bajaj or HH with be 10 times more expensive than any import, because of the high per unit component of "fixed costs". Lets not fool ourselves that any 350cc twin cylinder liquid cooled bike is going to sell more than 300-400 units a year. Now imagine distributing the fixed cost of the plant, equipment, machinery etc etc over only 500 units every year. Im sure it would be much less risky for manufacturers to go the import route (CBU / CKD /SKD form) than design and manufacture their own sports bike.
Unless of course some company decides to make india a global sourcing hub, then of course the fixed cost component of price would fall to low levels. But designing and manufacturing a sportsbike for India only is impossible.

Same reason I wouldn't mind a Graptor or Thunderbird or Enticer in my parking , we are here for our common love of bikes , biggge rmore powerful bikes are usually more fun , but that doesn;t mean smaller bikes are not worth a place in our garages and in our hearts .
