  • Need urgent help- versys 1000

I am plg to get a V 1000 from Bagga link Delhi. I have few queries.
    1. Why does the dealership charge 8k for std accessories ? If they are std then sdnt the cost incl in bikes overall cost ?
    2. Do dealers give any discounts or offers as I am buying OEM accessories worth 2 lacs too ? When I asked the reply was a big NO.
    3. Bajaj auto finance suggested by the dealer is giving interest rate of 7% for four yrs. Is there a scope of any reduction in this ?
    Thanks in advance.

Buy another bike, go to another dealer... I was lashed with a crude reception with a few dealers. And don't agree to pay handling charges etc..
      1. Way to make money
      2. Buy accessories outside, will work out to half the price
      3. 7% fixed turns out to be close to 13% reducing- look for other banks. Some suggested IDBI and Canara bank who charge around 10.25 % reducing balance.

Why are you even buying a Versys 1000 in the first place?

Whooow... didn't see that coming.. in a nutshell..I like kawasaki reliability.. a better support network..I dig the power modes..traction control..separate function forks..and nothing else is ticking all the boxes as versys does..

The ninja 1000 costs about 14, so i am going to assume that this is costing you about 15.

The Bmw R1200 GS and the Ducati Multistrada can both be had for around 17, which is just 2 more, and are much more accomplished motorcycles in every way.
Then there is also the TreK amazonas, which Powerdrift has brillinatly reviewed here ------> https://youtu.be/UUzyvMJAYhE

And then, needless to say there is the Africa Twin which is going to be launched soon.

The 2015 Bandit has got a great review on MCN SUZUKI GSF1250S BANDIT (2015-on) Review | MCN

And ofcourse the V-strom, which is, well, kinda meh IMO, but whatever.

I suspect the tigers wont cut it for you, but then any reason for leaving such fine machinery out of consideration?

              Hi,

While the V1000 seems a great bike on paper and all the reviews out there, do check out the Multistrada 1200S (with the Skyhook suspension) also if your budget does allow it.

The Multistrada seems to be a much much better bike in every which way possible except the price.

Update us on your final choice and all the best.

              Cheers

                Thanks a lot hyper retard..
as I said before kawasaki has better service network present and has better future prospects of improving it further..so BMW and suzuki are out also I don't know its price.
I don't imagine myself touring 1k plus km on multistrada.
V strom has been the closest competitor of the versys internationally..but I didn't like it..
Some how I love the idea of a very capable engine..very comfortable ergonomics..rock solid reliability..not so flashy looks..in fact not so good looks..

                Thanks cyborgk..
As I said before.. Multistrada strikes me as a more aggressive adventure bike than a tourer..and also there is a problem of service network..my job is going to take me places..so kawasaki seems a better option..

The tigers.. never struck a chord actually..they are all very fine machines no doubt.
BMW would have been my choice but it is just a beginning for them in India.
As far as my choice is concerned.. I have made it..
And will try to keep you guys updated and ask for your suggestions from time to time.

I forgot to mention this.. in all the reviews including ownership reviews.. Versys has hardly failed anyone.. including owners in India
IMHO..I haven't come across with any other bike who has so many positives...

Re: Need urgent help- versys 1000

Have to agree with OP here, Verses 1000 for touring is an excellent choice specially due to the service network.

For tourers out there- service network takes precedence over everything else.

Multistrada is better but the 1200s version costs 18.5 and is a pinch given Ducati's electronics systems reliability and lack of dealership's. When it comes to long adventure touring- its either The BMW 1200 GS / KTM 1190 Adventure / KTM 1290 Adventure / Multistrada 1200s

Triumph's are good but not in the same league as the above mentioned bikes.

The only downside with Verses is its capability around off road or bad road touring. Other than that its a fantastic motorcycle. Incase you are looking for road only touring give the Ninja 1000 a consideration too...

Agreeing with the OP would mean disagreeing with a vast majority of ADV-Rider.

                      1. They charge in the name of standard accessory , handling charges blah blah !! You can try to negotiate on this.
                      2. Don't even bother to buy accessories from them, extremely overpriced.
                      3. Try nationalized bank, I was quoted 12% from Canara Bank on reducing basis. Heard IDBI gives @ 10.x % reducing balance.

I hope you have taken test ride of V1000 before coming to conclusion. Don't decide anything just by reviews, do test ride the bike.
If you are done with test ride, then all the best for purchase
