• My First Harley. A pre-worshiped Street 750

Cruisers never made sense to in anyway. Growing up in a middle class family judging a product with a practical approach was embedded into my system so thing like power, mileage, reliability and maintenance would play a crucial role in any decision made. I couldn't justify myself paying more to travel slow, burn more fuel, handle worse against some bragging right and some street creed. Sure they are comfortable more stable on highways but I would always prefer reaching my destination quicker than arriving later with creature comforts.
Street 750 is one of the first Harley's I ever rode (courtesy uber) and was simply blown away from the shear torque from the engine. It was almost surreal experience breaking the 'typical' harley sterotype. Sure the quality was sub par HD standards with wires exposed, cheap switches, the famed potato rumble from the twin. But she had created a special place in my heart right from my first ride.

Finally after 2 years I was able to find myself a street 750 offered at a decent price downside it being in ahmedabad and me being in pune. With the distance being over 750kms I was a bit skeptical to take the plunge however fearing of losing this deal I decided to take a chance.
Thankfully she was as I anticipated it to be with a screaming eagle exhaust which came in as a surprise. The deal went through in 30 mins and was out by 5pm completely geared to make my journey back home. I had to reach Vadodara roughly 100 kms from Ahmadabad with the directions from the seller I headed out without GPS on my phone. Big Mistake. I connected onto a state highway going through the heart of the city Nadiad and then connecting on to NH8 5 kms before Anand. I had experienced the bike in all the riding conditions one can possibly could on the first day from bumper to bumper traffic to short two lane overtake burst and straight leveled spotless asphalt. Maharashtra take note.
She started galloping the miles the next day with its seamless cruising ability at triple digit speeds. I had already crossed Navsari with 2 fuel stops in 2&1/2 hours which was quicker then what I usually take in my car. I crossed Gujrat was earlier then I anticipated only to have coming to a grinding halt with a traffic jam before virar stretching for kilometers on the flooded streets. This was 20th sept Mumbaikars know about it .
The final stretch of the journey was pushed to the next day with a overcast sky the day couldnt have been better making me take 2 detour on my way home.
Let the pics do some talk for now. Oh yes she was detailed the next day.

Congratulations on following your heart...if you don't mind d9 share details of this "deal". And how muvh worshipping had veen done on her previously? What checks did you make before going through with the deal? 30 mins sounds like too short a time to go through the usual checks on a vehicle like this. Please elaborate a bit for us to understand the scene...

Surely pm me for the price. She is 2014 end registered and had clocked around 7.4k on odo. I basically checked for accident damaged first. Then I ensure that there isnt odometer tampering which should be a must if you are picking a less used bike. Then I look out for any mechanical issues thoroughly and also the forthcoming issues if any like worn sprockets or tyres which maybe needing a replacement in future (helps with the negotiation).
Checking the tampering for the odo is a tricky procedure as you have to look for overall condition of the bike also consumables such as tyres should be stock under any riding condition if the odo is under 15k.
For checking out the engine make sure you get a chance to experience it when it is cold, which could also make starting problems (if any) evident. Similarly also when it is hot lookout for any abnormal sounds. And a check for service history a must.
I see you own a XDS, that is one bike which makes me go weak at the knees.

Thats quite smart a checklist...well done...did the seller have any accessories he handed over to you? I received a bag of stuff from the dealership while taking the bike...stuff mostly lying unused for now like spare pillion seat, reflectors for the seat etc...
