Arrival Of The Hulk: Kawasaki Z650

          UPDATE:

          Hello Guys!!

I have done second service yesterday, odo reading was 6,100kms. Below are some details:

          Issues which I was facing:

          1. Vibrations around tank at 5k rpm.
          2. Bike stalling abruptly.
          3. Squeaking noise from clutch lever.

          Things done during the service:

          1. Engine oil replaced (Motul 7100 10W40 2.5 Litres )
          2. Oil Filter replaced
          3. Air filter replaced (Yes! It was clogged at 6,000kms and reason for bike stalling abruptly, Kawasaki says this filter lasts 12,000 kms 🤣)
          4. A bolt was missing under the tank which was the causing vibrations, new bolt was tightened.
          5. Chain tightened, cleaned & lubed.
          6. Clutch cable lubricated.
          7. Every bolt was tightened.

          Engine oil cost: ₹1925/-
Air filter & oil filter cost: ₹3090/-
          Labour Cost: ₹1840/-
          Total Service cost: ₹6855/-

Overall happy with the service, bike is running smoother than before. Here are some pics during the service:

Does Kawasaki recommend any injector cleaner or any fuel filter replacement?

                  UPDATE

An update was pending from long time and I was also not active on forum, bike has done around 12,100kms, did third service on Sunday. Following things were done:

                  • Engine oil & oil filter changed
                  • Air filter cleaned
                  • Chain tightened, cleaned and lubed
                  • Brake pads cleaned
                  • All the screws and bolts tightened
                  • Throttle body cleaned

Total bill for third service was Rs. 7,000/- (including conveyance charges for mechanic)

Brake pads and tyres were worn out, so replaced both today. I chose EBC Brake pads because Kawasaki OEM brakes pads costs Rs.9,100 for front (both sides) and EBC one costed me Rs.5,798/-

Tyres I installed are metzeler m7rr both at the front and rear, rear one is 180/55.

Bike is performing well, nothing to complain about. Some pics are attached below:

                      UPDATE:

First of all, posting on xbhp after really long time. Here are few updates on bike:

                      • Bike has 17,500kms till now.

                      • Have changed chain sprocket yesterday at 17,400kms, opted for esjot sprockets and DID chain from motousher. Cost for set was Rs.10,500/-.

                      • I have changed headlight bulb to Cyclops Ultra LED 10.0 and now illumination is really good. Cost of the bulb was Rs.8,000/-

                      • At around 13k kms both fork oil seals got busted and had to be replaced, opted for aftermarket one which costed me around Rs.4,000/- (both sides combined) and OEM costs was Rs.7,000/- (both sides combined). Again labour cost was too high from Kawasaki.

Nice photos ,just wondering why is the sprocket having so much rust at 17k kms unless you live close to the coast ?

Nice review ! Just wanted to ask how is the experience with the new tyres. AFAIK the Metzelers are very grippy but prone to a lot of punctures. And how is the upsized rear tyre ?

I have done around 6k kms on metz, till now suffered only one puncture at rear tyre, grip is better than stock tyres and I guess life will be more than stock. I didn't experienced any change in riding dynamic with upsized rear tyre.

Thanks for the update. Ah good feedback about the Metz.

I have been looking for a windscreen for some time with no luck. Did you buy it locally or did you order it from abroad?
