Oh, absolutely. As demonstrated by the 26K KM that you've put on it. And congrats on finding your right spot.

Another interesting thing to note:
When I am on the P200, I ride at 6K rpm/5th gear = 78~80 km/hr. Hasn't changed in 80K kms.
When I am on the Mojo, I ride at 4.5-5K rpm/6th gear = ~80 km/hr again, hasn't changed in 40K kms either
And now that I'm on this elephant, I ride at less than 3K rpm/6th because that's enough to get to 80+ km/hr, hasn't changed in the 26K kms i've ridden, doesn't look likely that its going to change...


BOTTOM LINE
It is not the bike. It is me.
But a lot can be accomplished at a steady eighty kms per hour.
I've spent lotsa money over time to go from 6K to 2.8K rpm essentially...
Kind of an expensive way to find out your comfortable spot. But whatever. I'm happy!

Well about 1.5 years and 26K kms later the bike is doing just fine. Range of 350-360 km is still irritating.


However, it is greatly relaxing to cruise at 80 km/h at ~2880 rpm in 6th - it feels like the bike is off or something. Side bonus - 23 km/l consistent.

So I've bought a GS last August and have taken it for a few trips to the hills.
Everything is great. Tank range of 380ish kms is irritating though.



Best part? No chain drive to clean and lube every morning when on a hill trip.
Had one service done which was pretty steep cost-wise, also, no issues in the ~6K or so I've done so far.

My apologies to all for the delayed reply. Mostly active on FB, so logging in after a very long while and saw my thread!
Originally I hosted all my pics on Imageshack free of charge many years back. Then they decided to make it paid, which I was not intimated and my account got deleted by imageshack so lost all the hosted pics there. I still have the pics in my computer but I will have to slowly sort them out as which pic goes where. Surely will take some time but I shall do it.

In the meanwhile, if any of you are 'seriously interested' in buying and getting some guidance on BMW bikes, I dont claim to be an expert nor do the BMW Motorrad India people even know that I exist , but with close to 100,000 kms riding experience on a variety of BMW bikes in various countries, I shall be glad to share whatever little knowledge I can assist you with (hopefully!). Please PM me your name, email & queries so I can reply on email. I am travelling for the next one month, but will do my best to respond to you.

there is a naked(street) version of F 800 called F800 R.

Its very similar to F 800 GS but has chain drive instead of belt drive and has no front flairings.
I was having F800 last season before my crash in last November.
Will upload the beauty's pictures this evening.
