i have used STP Octane booster you get a bottel for around Rs 250 for 330ml.
in my experiments with it the recomended amount does not have any effect (6 ml per liter)
using doubles the quantity about 12 to 15 ml per liters shows some effect, according to independent test of the booster one can put upto 3 time the recomended quatity (18 ml per liter)
so i stick to 15 ml per liter.
thankfully the honda is fitterd with an octane boster and i found that one can use regular 91 octane with performance loss
        in order of effectiness
        best is HP Power
        then is BP Speed
        and lastly IOC Xtra

Sorry, did not understand this...other than the other best alternatives

BP has stopped speed 97 ??? Here(in europe) the minimum fuel available is 95 octane
May the torque be with you..

Octane boosters have never caused any hard (at-least for me) the thing to be concerned about is the quality of fuel (impurities) and stick to good bunks. Some manufacturers void the warranty if octane booster is used though. You'll have to check.

                +1.

I had tried different varieties of octane boosters initially. But none of them worked effectively enough. I just stick to Xtrapremium from large / high traffic petrol pumps.

Same here tried otane boosters but on highways sticking to the premium petrol you can get is the best thing to do.

I have just purchased a Intruder 1800 , but the petrol available in my city is just the 91 octane number & the bike knocks
                      what needs to be done?

Well you can use octane boosters if needed, different people have different opinions on whether it is good for the bike or not....so I will just state mine, I think they work, but only when used in approximately the required measurements, generally adding too much or too little is a problem, so you will need to do some sort of measurement to maintain consistency over time....Attached pic of the ABRO boosters that I use
