  • 2005 Hyosung Troy

    hi guys,
I don't know if anyone has seen these pictures
    but check out these pictures.
new comet 650 with fairings, lighter parts and minor modifications.
but damn, that is one ugly head light.

I personally dislike replica style motorcycles. I believe the most beautiful parts of bikes are engines and exhaust cans. But I kinda like the second one(yellow one), except for the ugly face job.
I also hear Comet 1000 is comming out sometime later this year or early next year.

some modification pictures of Comet 250 I found:

                        hi nimish,
I have been very busy with work here in NYC and I am planning to go back to Korea in a few weeks.
I don't know when they are upgrading Comet 250, but I have heard that they are comming out with 1000cc V Twins.
Yes, I agree. I think the face of these new bikes are pretty ugly. They tried to be modern and instead they became odd. They need to hire Italian motorcycle designers or something, like Triumph did lately with their new Speed Triple and Sprint ST, which were designed by Italians.

                        About Troy 125,
I call it a disposable motorcycle. It is very cheap(about US$1600). Made for fun and get rid of it when you are bored or broken.
Made mostly for young people without motorcycle licenses(made for people with moped licenses). Not a good bike for touring, but good for city commuting uses. It is also good for light off road uses. They call Troy "a tracker bike" or something like that in Korea. It has a lot of modification stuff avaliable, so it is a fun bike to fix up. The engine is 125cc(SOHC 4valve single cylinder, 12HP). But the interesting thing about this bike is its crazy 180/80-14 rear wheel!!! Obviosly this bike is made for fun and look rather than performance.

The bike looks cool both in red and yellow. Yellow is smashing. But its a shame that its such a clone! I wonder if its that difficult to come up with an original design mod to something as superficial as the headling. Even our ZMA sports an original! Wish comet with stop aping Ducati now that it has quite a fan following.
