Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

I cant believe that yamaha could have got it so wrong. i noticed yesterday that my tail light was hanging by just the wire. the 2 screws holding it to the rear assembly had vanished. My friend who owns a yamaha showroom here told me that it probably wasn't fastened well and the vibrations caused it to slip off.Now i have to remove the seat, the unit under the seat . the two plastic cannisters covering the exhausts ( half a days job) just to get to two bloody screws. So i cant ride my bike until i get it fixed . Heartbreaking to see my tail light tied tied up with two strings. What kind of PDI do these people do. My friend who just got the 2010 R1, too faced a problem. The clip-on weren't fastened on tight and had a lot of play. When yamaha gives us such huge and expensive machines, one would expect them to to give us much better PDI.

Bro thats sad to hear man, click some pics and raise this topic to Yamaha Officials man. You know like this one looses confidence as to what else would have been left...... complain to higher officials along with the pics man

You better watch all stress points on the MT. It's not uncommon to have the entire tail section fall off; it's all due to the huge vibes of the motor. So, check all stress points for metal fatigue and cracks and check all nuts and bolts to see if they are correctly torqued.

You did it now but don't forget to do it often. At least the stress points every 1k kms and the nuts/bolts may be 2k.

I don't have the MT anymore, but when I did I didn't lose any sweat if I didn't find 97. It's a low compression engine and will happily accept the lowest grade we have here. I have no experience with additives but my new bike manual says never use octane boosters. Now I have to use 97 in my new bike but I've got many pumps around me so that's not a problem.

RUdra bhai sorry im really really late to this thread...

hearty congrats on ur new monster... just one video of her roaring pls.. post it soon..cant wait..

and about the screws getting loosened, report to it to the authorities. make them answerable to everything..they ARE actually !!

about the fuel, its ok to stick with 91 octane.. heard from a sbK friend of mine.. owns an r1.. i dono if the compression ratio is more on the r1 or mT, but 91 octane does the job..very well... stay away form additives for a while until u trust a good one.. or u may ask yamaha to give u more info on that, or get a few bottles for u.. that wont happen but still...nothing wrong asking..

                          keep her really safe.
u have something that most people on the road would kill to get 1 ... ride safe. keep the throttle under control.
                          take care...

1 last yet silly question..how many kms does she provide u on 1 litre of fuel ?
