  • [Photo Feature]: MotoGP Indianapolis 2008 - Pics

I made a trip to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) couple of weeks back to watch the Redbull Indy MotoGP. Few pics from the weekend. I left my P&S camera back in the US so I don't have a few priceless pics. But anyhow, this should suffice. Was an amazing weekend, especially for a Rossi nut like myself. But no patience to post a full blown Rossiter writeup Hope the pics will suffice

    Practice:

    Pillion on the Desmo:

    Qualifying:

    Here come the big boys:

    Turn 2.. Rossi style

    The Ducati camp:

The Maddur CCD is just out of the frame..

09 R1 with race slicks and Akras. I rode this exact bike, but without the aftermarket exhausts, and on street Diablo Corsas.

    Infield:

    MotoGP warm up:

Hey Rossiter, finally you have put it up here. But no text yet. I know you are a bit low. But, hey, we pine for texts from you. And the little incident with Pedrosa. They make for interesting reading for all of us. Will be eagerly waiting for something more than just photographs.
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

When Akhil was there in Indy track, he called me up and I was blessed to hear the live motogp machines running and revving
Thanks Akhil for that . I might not get a chance of seeing a MotoGP live but that day heard the sound

                      Thanks for the approval Aryan.

The Desmo was circulating about quite a few times taking a few guests for a spin. It was fun to see especially since the machine wasn't being held ack b the rider

Hmm.. I don't think I will be able to come up with my usual long and detailed writeups anymore, but never say never.

Yes that was a funny incident. I was walking around the infield near the pits and was looking for the Buell stand to see their new 2009 lineup. There were plenty of people with team/rider T-shirts, but there was this one little guy who was walking towards me. I remember thinking if he had gotten lost or something, and after he'd passed me there was a big commotion. I turned back and saw the chap signing autographs and what not. Then I looked hard and realised it was Pedrosa I didn't even realise that Pedrosa had just walked by inches from me. This was a change from the normal, because generally these guys don't step out this way without their/the team's PR staff in tow.

That was one highlight.. The other highlight was getting a couple of autographs for the guys from The Doctor.

I knew you'd like it, and watching the race on TV is much like the F1 races. We've no idea of the ear splitting noise these engines produce!

Lucky you to have exprienced the MotoGP for Real. The Indy race was very special and it must have been a heart touching experience to watch the top riders at the Legendary circuit, along with Ike giving hard time to bring the best out of them.

Regarding Peddy roaming around, did it happen after 125CC race? I guess the guys had a lot of spare time that day due to delay in 250s. Some of my friends in US got a huge bunch of shots with Dovi, Toseland, Hopkins and one of them even had a small interview with Simoncelli .
                        Enna Rascalla. Mind it !!!

You should, most probably, be the first (or one of the first few) Indian to ride the 2009 R1. No excuse, we'd need the 2009 R1 ride report. Take your time.
