Do not go for RXZ even if you're getting free of cost as the parts are even rare obtaining. Go for any 4S or 5S. Take lot of time to triple verify the authenticity of the condition on the cylinder & head. Though you may find people who're selling them, prepare to pay a nice premium; actually a bomb.
    Thanks dude..
yeah , will be careful when I go to check the bike.

As long as your cycle parts including bodywork, headlights and chassis are intact there should be no problem. All other parts are common to the RX135.

        That is exactly what I meant;
Fairings, tail lamp, pilot lamps (the RHS for even 135 was hard to obtain), the L brackets (esp the RXZ's), fuel tank (has become a substance of extinct).

^aalop: Aargee has clearly given the reasons as RXZ parts have almost extinct when it comes to cosmetics.

@Alavili: If you have not already, would suggest you to go through the 2 stroke section where many had rebuild their RX series. You will get an idea as to what is expected out of your project(rebuild). You will find them discussing on spares, spares availability, pricing, difficulties, pain, joy, frustration, suggestions and finally a lesson!

I completely agree with Sriram & Ganesh. My advice would be to stay away from RX-Z & RX135 5-speed version. Even if you get hold of a decent looking bike, 99% chances are that the bore would be either be of 4-speed (4TL00) or a last oversize 5-speed bore (4TL10) which has no life left. Well, the bore is the heart of an RX (or any 2-stroke bike) & if that is replaced with fake stuff/damaged, then you know what are the consequences.

Let me tell you, RX series were really great performance bikes, but without the company support (spares majorly), nothing much can be done.

If you still are adament on buying RX135, then go for the 4-speed version as still all the major spare parts are available in the market or with many 2-stroke enthusiasts out here in xbhp including yours truely.

All the best for your hunt.

              - Karthik Datta.

Folks, I am looking for a RX-135 4S as well. So, please let me know if you come across any.

                    Requirement :

To cruise to office and back (~60 kms).
Some times hit the sweet spot of 110kms/hr
No porting, disk breaks or re-paint - Stock condition and will maintain it that way.

                    Budget - 25K

PS: I have a 1987, RX-100. Dont want to use it too much. Why RX again? I think it's the best ever bike!

well i guess argee and sriram have given quite an open opinion to our friends that RXZ,RX135 spares are difficult to find and its almost true and say to u guys, its all about helping our fellow bikers to not fall or get cheated in buying a second hand bike where no spares a made available in the Co showrooms only dulpi stuff available in the market and shopkeepers are making money on them,ur liking towards RXseries is highly appreciated only thing is just be aware.
