Hey Friends thought not to create a similar thread so posting in this thread.I'm Getting this bike which LT & is registered in my hometown & its running on .25 unsleeved barrels & dentless silencers owner is quoting 90K for this bike. The bike runs good without any sound from engine & pulls very cleanly in each gear. Its on points. Will it be a good deal at 90K

The bike looks clean and well maintained by its current owner. But Rs.90,000 is too much. I feel Rs.70,000 is a fair deal for this bike.

80k max considering unsleeved barrels, dentless pipes.
P.S- Are you sure of the unsleeved barrels? if yes, it would mean the bike has never run much. and that would also mean a good crank and clean gearbox.

As long as the bike has been restored intelligently by the right people, OR you're willing to undergo the effort and pain of LEARNING how to restore one intelligently, the present condition doesn't matter.

But yeah, RD prices have sky-rocketed too much in the past decade, and people ask ridiculous prices for lemons that would get raped by a Karizma or Pulsar 220. A good test for checking the condition of the bike would be to ask the owner to drag-race with you on a desolate street or stretch of road. Take along a friend who owns a Kari or P-220. Even an LT RD in good condition should comfortable rape these 2 bikes in a straight line. If not, don't offer more than 30 grand for it, that too only if it has clean papers and can be transferred to your name.

You can see my blog to get an idea about what goes into a restoration (www.thecobradiary.blogspot.com).

See the post titled "The Cobra Build".

I am no stock-anorak and since i had a friend's stock RD to ride around in my college years, when I bought my OWN bike, I just had to modify it for more performance. However if I had to BUY one again now, unless it had the right mods by the right people, I would prefer buying a stock bike and do the mods I wanted.

There is lots to know and lots to tell, that one can't in a single post. Just post up if you have any specific questions. You will, as you learn more about the *****.
