  • Rx 135 5speed is not revving freely

    Hi guys,

My name is Lenin. My cousin bought a 2001yr - Rx 135 5 speed on saturday. It had been lying unused since quite some time. Probably the seller just started it now and then, but we are unsure of this fact.

He is facing two issues -
    1. Bike is not revving freely and is not really galloping like a rx should.
    2. At a constant speed/ throttle position, the bike seems to be sputtering and not breathing freely. Though when the throttle/ speed is constantly varied, the sound seems fine.
    3. Inspite of these issues, The Bike does 100+ but feels strained.

Mech. says, since it has been lying unused, it'll take some time to free up.

    Things done after purchase-

    1. We got the air filter changed (earlier one was in a pathetic state), carbs cleaned, oils changed, general servicing done. Spark Plug & battery were not changed yet. (we just forgot about them).

    2. There is visible rust inside the fuel tank.

    3. Oil pump is working, but he has added a small amount of 2t in the fuel tank as well.

    4. Showed the bike to two mechanics, both say, the engine hasn't been opened. Cylinder & piston are in good condition.

Please guide us and help in identifying the problem, and also suggest which spark plug to be used.

    Thanks.

      HI,
      Check these-
      1. Compression.

      2. Clean the carbs really well , i mean every smallest orifice, pilot jet. If possible replace the pilot with an original 17.5 mikuni.

      3. Replace the plug with NGK BPR7HS.

      4. replace the clutch plates with originals.

      5. replace the reed manifold and seal it well.

      6. clean the tank well and pour new fuel.

      7. If these dont work, open up the top end to inspect the piston, rings, and reeds.

      let us know the progress.
