It is a very reliable machine. Spares are easy to get.

      Tech specs:

      175cc 2-stroke engine developing 9bhp@5000 rpm.

I guess the bike in the picture is a CDI variant with a 4 speed gearbox.

If u r getting it at a reasonable cost, buy it now.

Dont see to many of them.

I have the worshop manual and the parts catalog.

Hey!!! Looks like u have the original speedometer with the tell tale lights on it ...

One lamp shows if u have pressed the rear brake lever on the bike.

        History of the bike:

It was made in the mid eighties to the early 1990.

Production of Rajdoot bikes stopped in 2003.

The Super-D also came with Ceriani type forks like we have on the RX etc. It was designed taking styling cues from the RD350 like the mudguards, seat, head/block shape etc. Not a very collectible machine.

I havent come across many spares for the Super-D. All i could find was both the mudguards. Engine parts can be found as it shares its engine with the Rajdoot 175. Its been many years i am looking for the complete lock set but still havnt found any. Same goes for the meters.

My friend says the tank is rusted and the forks might need to be replaced. Will RX/RD fork and tank fit?

            Thank you

I doubt on this one; reason being that, look at the front setup of Rajdoot which is quite different from the setup of RD350.

Please try and resist the urge to modify / remodel the bike in any way.

No offence meant, but I really do not understand why people want to plan mods even before they buy vehicles.

Remember that these are out of production bikes and need to be treated like classics, not as lab experiments.

The same line of thoughts have rendered all LT RD350s to become almost extinct.

I see 4 speed RX135s going down the same way. All are converted to 5 speed porting.

Hope u see where I am coming from.

Like Sixspeedtwin says, please do not even think of putting any alternative parts esp. cosmetic ones. If the tank is rusted, you can still get it treated so that it'll last for some more time. How about putting up a pic so we all know if it exactly will be worth restoring.

sixspeedtwin, With all due respect, I think what Ranjithmn meant is in case of non availability of front forks could his friend use the RX forks to get it running, rather than doing it for the sake of modding. But I do get your point in saying that vintage/classic bikes should preferably kept as close to original as possible. I wince everytime I see a 1960s or so Bullet modified as an obnoxious chopper/ with Avenger rear tyre etc.

Thanks for the reply guys but like need4torque said spare availability is the reason why i asked if i could use RX/RD parts. My friends does have the urge to "modify" but im holding him off.I haven't seen the bike yet so dont know how bad a shape it is but he was telling me tht the tank would need to be replaced...hence looking for alternatives.

@ RanjithMN : If your friend is in search for spares ..I have seen loads of Rajdoots in Nasik, AhmedNagar,Loni area...and heard spares are available there...If you have got friends there just try to get the info..

When I was in Loni...a native there told me like there are workshops where people will restore Rajdoots with a price range of 8-12k...But don't know its true or not
