      Sanjith, you are very welcome!

Bluesmoke, your friend has an eye for detail. Thats one fab restoration! Is he using a trickle charger on it? Loved the twin disc setup!

This is called Demand. A decent RD in B'lore costs a whooping 1,50,000/- to 2,50,000/-.

We are not talking about OE clutch plates. These were meant for racing, the guy just wanted to fit it on his street spec RD.

Seeing the figures quoted by you I'm really getting

Then I would suggest you to collect some contacts in US/UK, get Tourist Visa, Stay there for 1 month enjoy the stay and get all the parts you need for the restoration work and ship them.

Anyway I'm sure with a sum of 1,50,000/- you gonna have double benefit(Visiting other country + Genuine parts for your bike)
        1. US Spec Cylinder - Rs.40,000/-
        2. Indian HT cylinder (Un-sleeved & STD size) - Rs.25,000/- [optional spare]
        3. HT silencers - Rs.20,000/-
        4. Expansion Chamber - Rs.15,000/- [optional spare]
        5. Wiesco Piston Kit - Rs.15,000/-
        6. Racing Connecting Rod - Rs.20,000/-
        7. Disc Brake Kit - Rs.15,000/-
        Take the max values - 40k + 20k + 15k + 20k + 15k = Rs.1,10,000/- (above prices are indicative of current B'lore prices, +/-% possible)

There you have it, crossed Rs.1,00,000/- only for 5 items. I haven't included any costemtics at all!!!!!!!!!! What about rims, tyres, painting, Ignition & most importantly the tuner's labour charges???????

If the idea is just to build an RD to travel from point A to point B, then even 50k is sufficient, but for a guy like me who needs perfection & also tremendous performance i will have to shell out 1.5Lacs or even more!!!!!

As far as sourcing the RD parts for myself, my own bro is settled in california, i can get whatever i want, anytime i want. I was talking about general public point of view. Hope you are convinced now.

With Pride I am finally an RD owner!!!!

Now the real hard task begins of getting this dying beast to come to real life & roar on the Roads & set my Pulse racing & Heart jumping out of my Ribs.

I Would like all the Senior Members especially RD owners to please please guide me & advice me on getting this Classic Monster to its Original Prime.

I am really naive when RD parts are concerned

All the help is really wanted & will be appreciated.

          Thanx all in Advance...
          Hey man!

          Any updates on the rebuild?

A real Warm Thank you from my Heart!

Thank you Everyone From the bottom of my Heart.

I have read & taken every piece of Information & advices from every XBHPIAN here. The Rebuild process is ongoing & great speed I have managed to get most of the parts for the RD like: Carbs, Head, Cylinder, Wiring, Rims, Drums, Meters, Cables, Indicators, I guess all the parts are here only for the Original Silencers, I cant get good ones in mumbai.

People who have used silencers are quoting absurd prices.

Who ever has used silencers are in pretty bad shape

The hunt is on for good silencers. I hope I can get that too.

The Restored pics will be uploaded very very soon!

Good on ya mate building from ground up is the way to do it. If you are going to hold on to this bike I would urge you get yourself hooked with an electronic ignition kit if the bike is running on points.

I am sorry didnt take any pics of the spares, but I took some images of the Engine mounted on the Chassis after being painted.

Hope This will turn out to be real good!!!

                              Is this a cosmetic rebuild?

Why are there no pics of engine rebuild?

Are you going to be painting it in the R5 350 orange shade?

So far the bike looks heavy!
