  • RX135 4S- help needed

I have a yamaha rx135 4speed which i got a couple of months ago. It was on pickup. i asked my mechanic to clean the carburetor and my silencer was petrol washed. When i got it back it had tremendous pickup and speed. Then i took it for a long ride, i found that when lowering the speed from a top speed, the engine was chocking like anything. I couldnt find the reasons for this heavy block. someone please help on this.

    thanks in advance.

Looks like your carb tuning is out. Check the spark plug tip color. It should be dry with chocolate brown color. If not then adjust the A/F mixture by adjusting the small screw on the carb (1.25-1.5 turns out from fully seated position)

Feel free to ask if it doesn't solve your problem.

        Hello Vetri,

May I know whether you get the same chocking problem when you red line the bike in each gear??

Vetri - If you're a DIY guy, pls post the pics of your spark plug. Post it something like this...

Next time this happens, do it at your discretion + very safely, because its dangerous too. I don't mind even if you're not willing too!!!

When the vehicle is running & chocking is observed, open the fuel cap for about a second & then close it back; then put the key back to ignition & continue riding; do this all while when the vehicle is still in motion; the chocking thing should disappear; if that's the case, the culprit is the fuel tank cap; do let me know the outcome & I'll let you know what to do.

i doubt if the culprit will the fuel tank cap, because the cap is not stock. A cap from some other bike has been used and its not a perfect fit.. i always hear a vibrating noise from the cap. anyways ill post the picture of the spark plug very soon.

From inside or outside? Metal clank or rubber noises?

its from inside only, i could'nt differentiate the sound if its from metal or rubber, but when i press against the cap the sound stops.

^^^ Upto you if you want to take or leave what I said; if you're able to get a smooth acceleration until top end, then your plugs should be in dark brown/jet black, nothing close to even W of white.

^^^ Plug seems to be ok, but looks like you're mixing too much 2T. Also the plug seems to have served long time. Get some more closer pics for better analysis like the one shown above.

Why there is oil outside the electrode region?? Make sure you have tightened yout plug properly and there is no leak on the head...

Did you see any oil spit in the spark plug if so change the spark plug and if you are using oil pump for 2T mixing check the oil pump adjustment if mixing directly don't add too much oil.
When you add excess oil the bike will fled in each gear when you red line it.
