Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

nothing as such can be guessed about a second hand bike without riding it for a fw kms. and here we don't see even a glimpse of them. like how good they're maintained nd all... it'll be very unfair to say anything abt them without even knowing them... and especially when talking about bulls. b'coz every bull has it's own character, it's own share of problems. you won't come to know them untill you live with them for a considerable amount of time.
while said all that, ask owners for the bike for some trial nd testing, consult a good local mechanic and then decide...
but if I would have been at your place I would have gone for G2 and never a 99 model machismo.

Well, I really don't know why I said that (technically). But I really think that the older, the better a bull 'feels'. It's all about your perception. and that's why I said "if I would have been at your place".

@Enfielder: BTW, are you sure that the 99's model you mentioned holds a CI engine? B'coz AFAIK it was the exact period when AVLs were introduced (yeah, there were CIs too but...).

            PS: also think, why a 99's model would cost 47 K whereas 73's / 82's model cost 70 K !? (the older, the better...)

Friends, i just got info abt a G2- 1979 bullet which a seller is interested in selling in 25 k, however he said that i would need to spend on clutch assembly, piston and breaks. However he said that engine is good.

What do you think guys? Should i go for it in 25 K and do u think the above restoration is normal.i would be seeing the bike on sunday and would post the pictures then.

Any specific distinct identification to be looked for G2 models on engine. What is the starting number on the engine for G2 bikes?

                Awaiting your reply

Before going for a buy just check the Heart of the Bull, that is the engine. You need to really make sure the engine is in good shape. Take it to a mechanic, get it checked and then decide.

The bike might look good from outside but the thing that runs it should also be very good because as the bike would have gone through multiple owners and in turn multiple mechanics, the kind off work it would have gone through also impacts on the condition of the engine.

And for the bike, I would say std 350.

Post the pics for sure dude... if the engine is right then its like you strucked gold... owning a bullet in 25k + add 10k of restoration charges = 35k

But if the engine is not in right shape them you may end up buying a 160 kg iron paperweight for 25k... so be double sure you are buying the right thing before widrawing the money from your ATM
