  • My humble RX 135: Project Race blue

    Yes the initial plan was to get this project done on a RX Z but due to xyz personal reasons shifted to the RX 135.

    So the bike now where this would be done on is a 2003 RX 135. And below are a few details on the bike:
    * Its a single owner 28 Dec 2003 model
    *0.25 Art piston running (the previous owner gave the bike to his cousin who forgot to use 2T oil and the bike ceased hence the rebore to next size)
    * Bike has covered 35k kms
    * Its the latest style 135(last model from the Yamaha in 2Strokes)
    * Engine and bike is in good health

    Few things that are not to my liking is:
    * Small cat con
    * RX 100 style tank and shield on RX 135
    * Small headlight
    * RX 135 latest type indicators
    * Front Drum brake

    So all of the above would be changed to RX 135 spec cosmetically

    Things that will be changed upfront right away with brand new OE spares are:
    * Limited edition Blue tank and shield
    * 4 Speed style clutch and magnet covers
    * RX Z meter assembly
    * RX Z Headlight
    * Gladi disk brake set up
    * RX 135 regular(big) cat con
    * Shogun/RX Z indicators

    Pics of the bike and the spares that will go in to this bike
    Cheers,
    Chethan

    Advice is a form of nostalgia.
    Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

      Thank you Karthik for accompanying me and helping me with all these items.

      So below are few more items that are gonna go to the bike..
      Finally decided to go ahead with Shogun indicators.
      And the regular 4speed 2T oil pump ( replacing this as the one in the 5 speed clutch covers were the latest 135 2T pump which is smaller)
      Cheers,
      Chethan

        Wonderful. Think, the bike should be ready by today evening for delivery. Do post some pics once done.

            Sorry for posting it here. I have a small query. When I do a full tank, the fuel starts leaking from the top when I am cornering. I just noticed that my fuel tank doesn't have the black thingy. Is this the reason why it leaks?

              The "black thingy" is not a part of the fuel tank. I guess its only for protection while packing and handling.

              Check for the rubber seal present on the lock. Once you open the fuel cap underneath there is a rubber seal, please check for damages. That could be a problem for leak.

                +100 to that. Also please note that if that seal has gone bad or missing, your fuel will evaporate!!!!!!!!! Get this issue sorted ASAP.

                @Chethan, buddy please post some pics.
