  • Rebuild RX100

Hello XBhpians, i own an old Yamaha RX 100 (1991 model). I m going to modify it. I live in a small town the mechanics here r not that good. so i m taking my bike to indore (m.p.) I don't have enough knowledge about tuning. Don't know exactly what to tell the mechanics about engine tuning and other stuff. I need ur help on it. Attached pictures of my bike.
I asked about it's color in a separate thread and got many replies (query solved).

    Thread Approved and moved
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Congrats rocky,on your rebuild.first of all think which type of bike you want, ported one or pure stock.IMO Keep it pure stock.stock rx's are pleasure to ride and long race horse.my suggestion for colour are 1.silver with newer red and white parrallel stickers 2.Black.

ported bike means performance mods like expansion chamber, polished ports, sprocketing, carburetting, cdi mods, etc, etc.
2.pure stocks means in factory condition/specification.

no i will not recommend to do it,please stick with stock size only i.e 2.75x18,otherwise you will loose its performance(mostly, pickup).alternatively you can find good tyre which has better grip.
